Great Place!

The Wine Valley Inn was very nice...with down comfortors and a flat screen TV. We had one of the cheapest rooms, but it was ... nice! The grounds are very pretty! It reminder me of the nice places in Napa Valley, California. Would definitely stay there again. Walking distance to the whole downtown area of food and shopping!

Beautiful Hotel but Keep Your Voices Dow
Karmaking Aug 25, 2009
Everything was great at this hotel. It is centrally located in the town of Solvang. The staff was very helpful, and the rooms ... are also beautifully designed. My only criticism is we could hear the other people in the room next to us, and they weren't being very loud. The hotel could do with some additional soundproofing measures.

Great Service, Great Location
EY Eagle Eye Aug 3, 2009
We really enjoyed this hotel. It is in a great quiet location. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Would not ... hesitate recommending this hotel. I think it's a little pricy for the size of the rooms, but Solvang hotels are not cheap. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast as well as complimentary wine tasting offered on Friday and Saturdays.

Great old building with very interesting, unique rooms. No bathtub but the extra large modern shower big enough for two made ... that no problem. The location is the best in town. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

We traveled to Solvang for the PCPA TheaterFest and searched for a hotel or inn as close as possible to the theater location. ... The Wine Valley Inn & Cottages is located just around the corner from the theater, near downtown but on a very quiet street. The ivy-covered inn exudes charm, the rooms are decorated in a clean, fresh style, the continental breakfast is plentiful and served in a nice dining room, the sitting room is very inviting, the gardens are small but beautiful.

ballarinaqueen May 27, 2009
The front of the hotel is a beautiful clock tower, very authentic danish, and when one goes into the little center yard ... little fairy tale cottages unfold. If you are on a budget like we were, the standard rooms are just as large and comfortable. No need to spend 300$. For 97/night this King size bed and nice shower was well worth it! ALso it is located in the heart of Solvang, with everything being walking distance.

We made a fast trip to wine country to pick up a couple of wine barrels. Our stay was for one night only. Our room was very ... clean and and nicely decorated. The bed had loads of pillows and was so comfy. The location is perfect. You will have an enjoyable experience at this Inn. The staff was very pleasant. Our friend from Estonia was here to celebrate his 50th birthday. He had seen the movie "Sideways" and wanted to visit the ... area. The Wine Valley Inn is right in the middle of downtown Solvang within walking distance to several restaurants and wine tasting shops. The rooms are recently renovated and are beautiful. Our room had a refrigerator which was really nice. The hotel offered a wine and cheese tasting in the evening and an above average breakfast in the morning. The wineries are only a short drive away and the area is absolutely spectacular. We live in San Diego and have done many wine tours in Napa and Sonoma, but this was our first time in Santa barbara County. We will definitely be back. The only thing this hotel is missing is a pool.

Our best meal of the trip was at Cafe Angelica's. I usually don't go for Italian food but it was the only restaurant opened when we arrived late the first night. Wonderful food, not too heavy and great with a nice Syrah or Cabernet.

They have the best Danish food at a number of restaurants all over town. The shopping is also very close. This little town is very compact and everything is within walking distance from your hotel

You are in the heart of Solvang staying at this hotel, everything you want is just around the corner. If your interested in visiting wineries they are all within 10-15 minutes of the hotel. You can even do a Sideways wine tour and they will pick you up at the hotel.

Solvang shops are walking distance, but the beauty of the place is that it is a short drive to all of the various wineries.
--Irene, Trabuco Canyon, CA Aug 1, 2008
We brought our bikes and rode to some nearby places, as the roads aren't too hilly (except for one). Nearby are u-pick farms for berries (if in season), a lavender farm, other farms, vineyards and wineries, and a place where one can see miniature horses. Without bikes, these sites are a short drive.
--Lisa, USA Jul 3, 2008
Bike rental is a short walk from hotel. We biked to wine tasting on Alamo Pintado Rd and on to Los Olivos. Went hiking at Nojoqoui Falls. Great restaurants in Los Olivos.
--Eileen, USA Jun 16, 2008
Most shops close very early, so if you want any snacks or anything else, remember to get them eary in the day. Liquor stores are about the only option late.
