overall the hotel was okay. old but remodeled. horrible front desk, lobby service. the attendant was extremely rude and ... disrespectful. i will never return to this location, would definitely pay extra to stay elsewhere, where guests are treated with respect. roomservice was great, ordered cheeseburgers after a 5 hour drive, they were amazing!

Lovely Inn!
psaturn Nov 17, 2009
One of the more important aspect of a hotel or motel stay is a good bed. Lamp Liter Inn had one of the better sheets among ... the motels I have stayed. It was smoother and thicker than usual fare. The towels were fluffy and medium thick. Some reviewers commented this hotel was dated. I do agree it was dated but I thought it added to the charm. It brings back to what motel was like back in the 60's. With real keys to open the doors, well maintained property, and also very handy to load and unload your stuff you are traveling with if you get the first floor facing the parking lot. My room came with 2 doors, the other led to a beautiful central garden with large pool and gazebo. I did not try the restaurant but it was available.

Not staying at his hotel again
Longos27 Aug 23, 2009
My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our visit to Sequioia National Park. We were staying for one night and we ... didn't want to spend too much money so this hotel met our needs. The front desk person let us into our room 2 hours before the check in time and the room was very clean. This is not a fancy hotel. It has the basic accomodations, this is basically a place to spend the night in. The TV is very small and only has a few channels, but the biggest downside was the front sliding door. The inside lock doesn't work so it can be easaly open from the outside of the room. We didn't feel safe in the room let along leave our belongings inside. We woke up at around 6am due a lot of noise coming from the outside from people leaving. We won't be staying at this place anymore mainly because of the door issue.

Good Value, Clean rooms
Viperduke Aug 16, 2009
This is a very clean, comfortable motel. Everything was well maintained from the front desk area to the rooms to the ... courtyard and pool. The courtyard and pool were especially nice to relax in after our long drive. We used this as a stop-off on our way to Sequoia Nat'l Park and it suited our purposes well. It was about 2 hours driving time to the Giant Forest area at Sequoia. Our room DID have a small refridgerator and microwave, both of which were useful.

Attached to the hotel is a small diner and bar. The diner is a typical diner, but the food is better than a francise. There are also other restaurants in the area that offer more fancy eating experiences.

Cozy and clean.
Lauri (sister's keeper) Mar 3, 2009
I have family in the area that cannot travel, and until a few weeks ago I stayed at a chain motel on Noble as their prices ... were low. The Lampliter was a breath of fresh air compared to my prior motel stays in the area. No, it's not new and shiny, no, it doesn't have a lot of gadgets or frills....but it was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I was unafraid to step outside my door to enjoy the manicured lawns and shrubbery. Spoke with the security guard a few times as he walked the property. Had some car trouble, went to the lobby and the staff was VERY helpful. Plan on many return trips. The internet connection in my room was great. My only complaint...and it isn't that big of deal, but no mini fridge in the room.

the Lamp lighter Inn was a okay place to stay. It was quiet. The interior was very outdated and the lamps were not even ... plugged in. There was not even outlets for the lamps to be plugged into. The room was small. The hotel really needs to be updated and bathrooms need to be redone totally. it felt like the toilet and shower was going to fall down around us. all in all i did not feel i got my moneys worth.

Great place to stay, but no late night snacks available
Edgar Jun 15, 2008
Had a very pleasant stay at the Lamp Liter Inn. The room was very clean and the AC kept us reasonably cool from the 100+ ... degree weather. It had everything we needed: separate sink area from shower, iron and ironing board, and a TV with cable. The only drawback was that the kitchen was closed after 9:30pm. We had to go out and explore town to find some food. Not a bad idea when you are visiting, but a very bad one when you are exhausted after a long day of driving. There was a shopping center about two blocks away with a pub where we were able to order Pizza. Very good pizza as a matter of fact.

The Lampliter Inn was very comfortable. The beds were clean and comfortable. The staff were extremly helpful and friendly. ... They even allowed us to send and receive a fax at no charge. I didn't try the room service or the restuarant but I am sure they were great. I would recommend this motel for travelers and I would use it again.
