Wonderful hotel in historic Savannah
Steven from upstate New York Oct 12, 2009
Very fine hotel in historic Savannah. Right on the tourist trolley route. Quiet location across the street from a large ... town park. Very friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is extremely good; much better than almost all hotel restaurants that I've experienced. Would choose to stay at the Mansion on Forsyth Park again next trip to Savannah.

Very nice Hotel BUT ??
Not a world travler YET ... Sep 7, 2009
The Hotel was very nice, one of the best I have stayed at for a while... But the pricing of the Hotel is "Deceptive" .. ... The Hotel room price is one thing, but at the end, the add-ons are not spelled out. When you check out they add on Parking, a Tourist Tax, and a Resort Tax. On a two day stay, it came to $66.00 more. Add that to the room and its just not the right thing for the Mansion to do. They should tell you this up front. Orbitz should tell you about this up front.

pleasant stay with extremely nice staff
savannah first-timer Aug 16, 2009
The room was large with great amenities. Restaurant was a bit pricey for the quality, but ok. We were not told we would be ... charged $19 per day not inc. tips for valet parking although we never used the car except at check-in and check-out. Also a $12 per day "resort fee." Food amenities are on a sensor so if you MOVE any of the items, you get billed whether you ate them or not! Be sure to read the little sticker on the refrigerator warning you not to move any items or put any of your items in there! As I said above, our room had a bit of an odor. Staff was very friendly and service was fast. Decor is lovely. Plenty of nice amenities. Large and quiet rooms.

Wonderful Stay!!
Shaun G. Apr 28, 2009
I only stayed one night at Mansion on Forsyth Park, but I must say it was a great night. The staff greeted me as soon as my ... car pulled up in front of the hotel. The valet staff was courteous and helpful when I asked about nightlife and other things to do in the area. The concierge was very pleasant. My room had spoiled spilt milk in the mini-frig and when I informed him of that, he sent someone to clean it up immediately and upgraded my room. They had a no hassle approach to everything. The decor was wonderful, the bed was soft, the rooms were beautiful and the spa tub was very soothing. There was a complimentary shuttle on site as well as the restaurant. I would definitely stay there again the next time I am in Savannah. The only gripe I had was the $100 holding fee they didn't tell me about until I arrived. It's for in case something happens and things need to be replaced. You are reimbursed after checkout, but that's something that should be mentioned before check-in. Other than that, the hotel was splendid!!

Delightful & Beautiful
Shay Apr 22, 2009
The hotel was so beautiful and the staff was very polite and opened all the doors and tended to all your needs. Welcomed you ... every time you returned and told you to have a great time when you left to go out and adventure. The restuarant was 5 gold stars. The food was delicious and the staff made sure you had everything you needed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in luxury but at a somewhat affordable price. It was well worth it. The room was absolutely marvelous. Made me feel like I was staying in a old century castle. I will be back!!!

The staff could not have been more helpful or nicer! [...], our server during breakfast hours, was particularly memorable ... for her helpful hints with regard to activities in town and her natural friendliness, humor and caring manner. The room was very comfortable and inviting. The hotel decor was eclectic and fun. The art collection, both indoors and out side, really set the hotel apart. The restaurant was top notch (we had one dinner, three breakfasts and cocktails in the bar). The location was perfect for taking long walks to explore the beauty of the architecture and numerous parks in the city. The hotel is on the route for the "hop on, hop off" bus which makes exploring the city very easy. We had a lovely time and probably will return when the flowers are blooming.

Not worth the $
Robert Dec 7, 2008
The room was very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and the upkeep of the property was well done. Our dissatisfaction ... stemmed from the 'lip-service' of the staff. All requests (For a fan for a warm room; cork-screw for wine, etc) were answered professionally and completely ignored. This was our wedding weekend and they made it VERY forgetable. We will not be back.

the best hotel that I have stayed at in quite a while
lynn May 8, 2008
The Mansion on Forsyth Park is incredible! It is an old Mansion that overlooks Forsyth Park. Inside, it is filled with ... objets d'art and is decorated in an art deco style. Our room was fabulous. It had everything we wanted and a bathroom to die for. The best was the bed. I keep on meaning to write to ask what kind of bed it was. It was the most comfortable bed that we have slept in. The staff are top notch! My partner left his glasses in a horse drawn carriage and we called the hotel to tell them as they had arranged it for us and by the time that we were home from supper, they had contacted the company and gotten glasses back and they were waiting for him in our room. We would go back tomorrow if we could. We most certainly will go back again.

We really had a fabulous time. The only two draw backs is that we used their valet parking, which is $20/day, but we didn't ... realize how much it was until checkout. The price isn't posted anywhere. Second, there aren't a lot of dining options. The restaurant menu is very limited, but delicious.
