The hotel worked fine for us. Great central Pasadena location, good housekeeping service, spotless facility. Both a ... refrigerator and microwave in the room. The wifi worked fine. The breakfast was basic but of good quality and all items were kept refilled. The only thing I would would like to have had was a second chair in the room so both my wife and I could have read. Also, there could have been a couple higher wattage lights for reading. Walking distance to the Gold Line light rail and the Pasadena Convention Center.

Handy location, pleasant staff, decent quick breakfast, but the air conditioner sounded like a train coming into the room ... every time it went on. The room also could use an easy chair or at least a second desk chair. Slow (but free) internet connection. Good basic value.

Very clean hotel. Very friendly. We stayed at this hotel during a nearby fire in the mountains and as a result some ash got ... on our car and in the pool. They did clean the pool right after that and it was ok. The Thai restaurant attached to hotel was awesome. We ate there twice with no regrets. This hotel is near some awesome scenery and some historics landmarks. Plan on spedning some time sight seeing and shopping.

The Pasadea Inn in Pasadena, California
none Jul 30, 2009
The Pasadena Inn was a pleasant surprise. It was spotlessly clean, no mold in the showers, lovely towels, good maid service, ... and the people at the desk were pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone. The pool area was nice too, and for the most part, no deferred maintenance. The only down side was their landscaping could do with some watering and tending. But overall, an A!

great location, you can drive to the pasadena convention center in about 2 minutes, and if you wanted to walk it would be l0 maybe. also, the shopping along colorado is just lovely with a large pedestrian walkway across the street from the Pasadena mall walk. Stone's throw from Lake street where there are more shops. Very good location, freeway close to downtown and the valley.

Review from a Bar Examinee
PK Jul 30, 2009
I stayed here for three nights while I was taking the California Bar Exam. The location is great because it is only 2 or 3 ... blocks from the Convention Center, and I was able to walk to the exam every morning. It is great that they offer free breakfast, free wireless, and free parking. It is a much better deal than the other hotels that are a bit closer to the Convention Center. The staff was very friendly and the room was a typical standard room with a microwave and mini-fridge (which is great if you are staying for a few days). The walls are a bit thin, but I never had any trouble sleeping or concentrating if I turned on the fan or air-conditioning. I was on the first floor, so I could hear the person above me walking around and turning on the shower. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience because of the great location and the great benefits (breakfast, parking, wireless). It was also half the price of what my some of my friends were paying to stay right near the Convention Center.

I was apprehensive booking at the Pasadena Inn. A couple reviews complained about the cleanliness of the rooms, but I found ... my room clean and reasonably quiet. The air conditioner was a cheap hotel window unit that made a lot of noise and the continental breakfast is the standard coffee and cereal, but what do you expect for such a cheap price downtown? The Pasadena Inn an easy and safe 3-block walk to the Pasadena Convention Center and oodles of restaurants.

Convention Traveler Jun 1, 2009
We stayed at the Pasadena Inn for the BotCon 2009 convention. The room was exactly what I needed. Nothing too fancy, but ... simply a good place to rest and put our things. The room had a nice sized refrigerator and a microwave, which was a big positive. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the price was cheaper than just about anything else in the area. Having said that, a good friend of mine had what was apparently a very bad experience at the same hotel at the same time we were staying there. There may be a few bad rooms or something along those lines, but my friend didn't give me any details, other than that he received a full refund and gifts and had changed his place of stay. Speaking for myself and my wife, though, the hotel was extremely nice and provided a pretty good free breakfast as well.
