Left My Daughter in GA Nov 29, 2009
The hotel was OK. We chose this hotel because the one we normally stay at received poor ratings with the new owners. The ... beds looked like shoe boxes with a bedspread over them and were not much softer. The pillows were square, Eurostyle pillows, maybe 18 inches square. My son called and asked if they had any larger pillows and he was told these were the "standard" pillows. However, as my husband came in to the lobby the night desk person did hand him another pillow with out our asking for one. Our alarm clock didn't work and the microwave didn't work. When we told the person at the desk, her reply was she and the owners daughter had been trying to figure out the combination to make them work. She suggested that we punch, clock, time, then rub our thumb across the start bar and then put in the time and do it again??? My adult children were with me in the room next to us. Their microwave and alarm clock worked. It was in a safe area and the rooms were clean. My son wanted to use the fitness room. We asked three times for them to unlock it and then the equipment didn't work. The breakfast was all right. The owner's wife took care of it during the week. It seemed everything was out of stock. I looked for milk and couldn't find it. Finally another patron told me that it was in the fridge. I had my food in the microwave with only about 15 seconds remaining and the owner's wife asked me to take it out so she could heat her food up. The lady taking care of the breakfast on the weekend was super friendly and helpful and made sure everything was fresh and nice. Will I stay here again? I guess we got what we paid for, only 51 a night which seemed like a bargain. Probably will pay more at the other hotel up the road next time. I do not normally do the surveys, however, the hotels in Douglasville could use some customer relations training.

The hotel was nice. The staff were friendly. The only thing was this strange smell in the hallway. It was a strong ... pharamacetical smell. Could have been in the workout room. not sure. Our room was fine.

There seemed to be quite a few dining places within walking distance. We arrived after dark & continued our journey after breakfast so did not have opportunity to explore the area. Town appeared very clean & friendly.

My review of Best Western Garden Inn & Suites
Hugh Sep 28, 2007
The name of the hotel impressed us (we are seniors) and the hotel was very nice and lovely. The room was roomy and the king ... size bed was comfy. The breakfast area & offering included a hot breakfast as well as cold items. We were so happy to find the location so close to the exit on the Interstate.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was very nice and informative. The only gripe was the mattresses. They were not ... comfortable and seemed overly used. I really liked the safety aspect of indoor rooms and secure doors. The continental breakfast was not very good.
