Strange hotel!!
Sibling Travelers Nov 13, 2009
There wasnt a soul in site, but to get to the room after check-in you have to lug your suitcases down 6 different hallways ... winding around the property with stairs connecting the hallways!! So you have to pick up your suitcases and luggage or drag them up and down stairs over and over again. Such a bad set-up but the room was clean and the view is pretty (minus the Macy's behind the hotel)

Uneducated front desk
Ray Nov 5, 2009
The front desk person was just an idiot. Saying I did not understand her. I asked a simple question. Y is Harry Potter ... showing on the movie schedule, that it is playing on the hotel movie page. It tells you to go to the MENU to order Harry Potter. Go in there and there is no Harry Potter. I asked front desk Y is this. Reply is I do not know. I asked to find out Y. She said she could not do that. [...]

This hotel doesn't have a direct entrance from the street, but you won't know that until you try to find the place... and fail. Go into the big Macy's store lot and drive through it to find the hotel.

Out of order
passing-through Oct 23, 2009
Fine place if want to arrive at night, sleep, shower and get some cereal and juice before continuing your journey. ... [...]Almost every extra was out of order: the ice machine, the pool, the health center, the meeting room -- even my door key stopped working after a while. The continental breakfast was neither good nor bad.I give them credit for having free internet, coffee & tea in the room and the lobby, and an ironing board. And to be fair, when making the reservation they admitted the pool was not running. It's kind of an older place. Some people might not like older facilities like the mid-century style bathroom, but I thought it was fine since everything worked. The only real problem is that nowadays you want to plug in your phone, laptop etc but will search hard for electric outlets in these older rooms.

Booked a non-smoking room, and immediately knew when I walked into the hallway where my room was located that it was a ... smoking section. Returned immediately to be told that I had requested a smoking room (which I later confirmed not to be true) and that they couldn't change it. Asked repeatably to be switched to a non-smoking section to which I was told the room would be sprayed down. Finally the person at the front deck call the cleaning lady, who obviously had more common sense and simply told her to give me room XXX which was non-smoking. That room was completely acceptable. Internet was free and available in my room, but so slow I couldn't even check my email several times. Breakfast included food I barely managed to eat and keep down, though the orange juice was quite good. Overall once I managed to get into an appropriate room and no long had to deal with the staff things seemed up to par for the price I paid.

I couldn't believe the value for the money. The room was large, and had all the amenities of a more expensive room. The bed ... was firm. And a 10 minute drivc to the airport - breakfast even. Highly recommend this motel.

Not What I expected
kkpurplerose Sep 23, 2009
This hotel needs help It's not really handicaped friendly, it's accessible but not really friendly. The outside entrances ... that I accessed had a step up hard for the elderly to use, to have flat surface they had to go to the front entrance of the hotel and walk quite far because of the layout of the hotel. The outside doors were hard to open so therefore were hard to close. They had a key card entry but the doors had to be slammed hard to close properly It was quite noisy to get them to close tight, so everytime I walked into the hall they were open not much security. I was traveling with my 82 year old mother and they had us on the second floor (no elevator) and on the far side of the hotel. We had a 5 am pickup for airport shuttle, I would have to bring all of my luggage to the front pick up area and then go back and and get my mother and bring her to the front. The staff was very good and moved us right away, but property is not very ederly friendly There was also a very musty or moldy smell through out made me just want to move on asap! There were spider webs and spiders all around both outside entrances that I accessed. As I said the girl on the front desk was very good, she helped me and was very friendly. I just think the owners need to put some effort to up grade the property, I was quite surprised that Quality has their name on this property

Adequate for the $$$
RochesterCouple Sep 21, 2009
We were in Manchester for the NASCAR race this past weekend. The Quality Inn is only about a 1/2 hour drive to New Hampshire ... Motor Speedway, so it's very convenient. There's also a lot of restaurants and shopping in the area. The outside of the building and the hallways were somewhat run down and made us a little weary. However, the hotel room itself was very comfortable and had nice updates. The bathroom was clean and met our needs, but was not updated. You only get 4 or 5 TV channels (which does not include NBC, ABC, etc.), so we had to go to a bar to watch the Sunday night football game. Overall, the hotel was sufficient and we were satisfied for the price.

Good location for us. Sadly the pool was under construction at the time of our stay. The rooms was an "okay" size, not to big ... not too small. BUT the unruley guests a room or two over that work us at midnight and didn't quiet until 2 AM was bothering! But the Hotel stay was fine other than that. Will use it next year.

Horrible Hotel
Phil Sep 14, 2009
First off I called the hotel on Saturday night (the 12th) to double check my late check in status, and was informed by the ... representative that if I didn't check in by 2 am, I was considered a no show, and would then forfeit my room. Apparently the computers reset at 2 am, and that's why I would be deemed a no show. Moreover because I prepaid for my room, I was not allowed a refund if the situation existed. When I mentioned the fact that I prepaid for the room, I was told that if the hotel was booked, they couldn't help me, however if the hotel wasn't booked, then they would "do what they could to help me out." The checkin was great. The representative that checked us in was very helpful and courtous. The night's stay was much different. The toilet leaked from the tank to the bowl, and consequently, every 10 minutes the water ran to fill the tank back up. Even after shutting the door the noise was too much, and we were woken often throughout the night. The other complaint stemmed from dried urine on the back of the toilet, behind the seat. It was obvious that it had been there for a while and was definitly not attended to. While checking out, I informed the representative of the problems that we had run into during the evening. She said oh, and ok and that was it. Plain and simple. She didn't even apologize! She just checked my room, saw that I prepaid and said that I was all set. I stood there for a moment and she said nothing else. She couldn't be bothered!! Needless to say I called [...] which is the number for choice hotels to explain my situation. I was given an apology, a complaint number, and an assurance that upper management of the hotel was going to see this complaint and get back to me within 72 hours. Then she said that she hoped that my next stay with Choice Hotels would be a better one...yeah....not going to happen.
