Get up early and hit the Prospect Mountain Diner just south of the village on Rt 9. They have a sunrise breakfast from 6-8am. Includes 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast and coffee for $2.95! My daughter and I ate for $5.30 and the staff was great.

Bring your toothbrush.
Magikalpig Oct 4, 2009
The Tahoe is in a great location, about a mile north of the "strip" in Lake George Village, on the lake itself. The physical ... plant itself is somewhat dated, although there have been some pretty good efforts to polish things up (new carpet, wall treatments, sinks). The in room ammenities like the dorm fridge and microwave and the coffee maker were nice, but a call to the front desk for a toothbrush was fruitless. Some signs of wear and tear (saggy sheetrock, exposed bathroom plumbing) and a generally old school layout give the impression of seediness, but the room had no odd aromas, and was very clean. Well worth the money paid, but it isn't the Waldorf.

My 5-year-old and I went on a mother-daughter weekend in Lake George. I was very happy with this hotel. I booked it because ... of the price and they still had their outdoor pool heated in late September. It is a quick drive away from the Village of Lake George, which I wanted for the peace and quiet. We were able to see the fireworks from the beach docks. Our tv remote needed to be programmed and someone came in minutes to help us out. It is an older motel, but seemed to be freshly painted and updated with new linens and granite counters. I was very happy with it for our purposes--just a place to sleep since we were out doing things all day. It is on a steep hill leading down to the lake, as many places are on Lake George. It would be tough for anyone with trouble walking as there were about 5-6 flights of stairs from our room down to the water. However, I would definitely return!

This was a nice, basic hotel with all of the amenities that one would need. Very small beach area, and you really need your ... hiking boots to get there from the room. The beds were too firm for us. We went to a show in Saratoga Springs (opening weekend for horse races)but couldn't find a hotel in the vacinity. The Tahoe ... in lake Geaorge was only twenty five minutes away. The lake was beautiful and the employees were very pleasant. We would've stayed longer to see other great mountains and lakes close by but the car was acting up and the rain was nonstop. However, we will go back to explore other places in the Adirondacks the next time we have a chance, although we would skip the Tahoe. th eroom smelled and we were the only room that didn't have a hair dryer - this made my girl unhappy, which makes me a bit miserable if you know what I mean. *The Upgrade (?) to a lakeside view didn't feel or smell like an upgrade. Not bad, but we'll pass next time.
