Beautiful Hotel, OK Location

The hotel and grounds are gorgeous with great access to Santa Rosa. If you want to travel to Napa or Sonoma; however, it's ... quite a drive.

Very nice place - but shuts down early
ErikB Aug 11, 2009
This is a very nice hotel overall. Our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The ... pool area is very nice and there is a cool grassy area with some grapevines and other plants. We ate breakfast at the adjacent restaurant, The Brasserie, and it was very good. The hotel's location is convenient for many Santa Rosa spots, with easy access to the freeway too. Our two disappointments were that the pool was not heated -- the water was rather cold even though it was mid-August -- and that the hotel shuts down early at night. The pool and jacuzzi close at 10 p.m., and so does the fire pit. It would've been nice to be able to get in the jacuzzi after a long day of sight-seeing, but we didn't get back from dinner, etc., until 10 p.m., so we missed out.

Good price, not great location
Travelbug Aug 11, 2009
Not a great location for traveling to Napa & Sonoma although it's represented as such. Hotel is not typical Hyatt for ... service, i.e., no bellman to handle bags, we took the cart & did it ourselves. If you get a room with 2 beds, plan on walking on top of each other the whole time. The room was clean as can be, that was 5 stars!
Traveler type: Friends
There are many good restaurants nearby but it's not a neighborhood I would feel comfortable walking in or they are on the square & you have to go under a freeway to get there. You really need to drive.

When I come back, I'd ask for one of the rooms that opens up to the fire pit or the pool because they have their own comfy chairs where a cup of coffee or sip of wine can be enjoyed.

Weekend in wine country
cerealberry Jul 12, 2009
expected more from the pictures and the description. The hotel sits in the middle of downtown santa rosa.. not in beautiful ... wine country but next to the 101. very disappointing. Looked just like the other hotel chains on the block. Nothing like the name of vineyard creek and spa. The spa was amazing. Best massage i have ever had. they did have a beautiful outdoor courtyard with fireplace that was wonderful to sit at and looked to have a very pretty garden, which was closed off while we were there. It was nothing special and would recommend some of the more attractive inns and resorts in the sonoma/napa area, which are surrounded by vineyards and quaint towns.

Not over priced and no dusty holly-hobby rooms one can find when traveling through Napa on a budget. The Hyatt is clean and ... modern - it has all the modern conveniences you expect from a top notch resort! After searching for hotel locations near a wedding in Napa - we found the Hyatt easy to get to from the Oakland airport. The staff was super friendly and made sure we had the right directions for each event we attended. My husband and I also enjoyed walking throughout the town and took advantage of the fitness and steam rooms - I'd recommend this property to anyone traveling through Santa Rosa, CA.

Santa Rosa Hyatt
R Apr 22, 2009
We've stayed in nearby Rohnert Park in the past, the Hyatt in Santa Rosa provides better accomadations and better amenities, ... with a friendly staff, in a great location. The Hyatt is within walking distance of all of the shops and restaurants in downtown Santa Rosa.
Traveler type: Couples
If you want a chain, there's Chevy's a couple of blocks away, but if you walk down the downtown streets you'll find a Cantina, a curry place, a pizzeria, Omelette Express (for breakfast), and local coffee places.

Excellent spa

The Hyatt Vineyard Creek had wonderful spa staff, and an excellent list of treatments. I was very surprised by how nice it ... was. The rooms were a nice size and they were comfortable.

Good dining just a little walk around the corner. Close to the freeway.
