Great getaway
Wine Lover Oct 24, 2009
My adult daughter and I stayed with my 16 month old grandson. Our room was actually a beautful little villa all by itself ... with a fireplace, sofa, table/chairs, refrigerator/sink. There were douple doors that opened to our own little patio with a bistro table and chairs. We will be going back to use the spa which we heard is wonderful. There was an odor in the room when we arrived but all the windows opened and we were able to air it. I think it was because it is in the dampness of the vinyard.

Wonderful!
Twelve Oct 23, 2009
Absolutely wonderful! My girlfriend and I stayed the night and had a lovely time. We had dinner at the restaurant and had a ... nice wine tasting as well. We had a really great cheese platter in the room paired with an equally delicious wine. Our room was beautiful and two double doors opened up to our own patio overlooking the vineyard. We took a swim at night and sat in the spa for a bit before retiring to our unbelievably comfortable bed! We had an amazing time and will definitely be back.

When going wine tasting for two - i would recommend getting one wine tasting each place you go. This way you can taste the most wine and actually survive the day. You also save a few bucks for buying a bottle of something that you are sure to fall in love with!

do the picnic lunch option on the Grapevine wine tour.

The grape vine tour is great. It picks you up at the hotel and then drops you off after visiting four local wineries. The lunch is great, if you choose that tour, and all tastings are included in the tour fee!

Beautiful oasis
Moose Aug 28, 2009
We went on the Grapevine wine tour and the best treat of all was at the hotel's wine tasting bar - every wine was better than ... the one before & the server was most generous. It was an oasis of beautiful flowers, and our villa amidst the vineyard. The jacuzzi tub was great, as was the plush and comfortable bed. I would love to go back & try the spa!

S. C. Winery Resort & Spa - Dont bother
Bryan Riley Aug 25, 2009
Absolutely Beautiful, the rooms, location and accommodations were fantastic. Customer service was non-existent, our rooms ... were not ready on time so we had to compromise King beds for queen (they looked more like fulls, we have a queen at home and this was smaller) We still had to wait and check in late. Room service was slow and lacking, which is disappointing since the only attainable food close by is the in-hotel restaurant (when it is open). Front desk help was about on par with a Motel 6. I would not recommend this hotel in spite of the visual attraction it offers (which is beyond compare).

Sister's 21st Birthday Party
Tash Aug 17, 2009
No one could find my reservation and when they did i ended up with a shared suite that i shared with a stranger. The room ... also lacked the jet tub and double shower heads. It also lacked the table that all others in our party had. And on top of that we had ants in the restroom. We had asked the day before have the four rooms for our party put as close as possible and we ended up completly spread out. They could only move us to a room with two queens once i complianed and had no intention of giving us vouchers or a free bottle of wine because they messed up. I was very upset with this service and it makes me wonder if it is worth going back for all that trouble. It is a wonderful romantic location with great food and great wine but this was a nightmare. What was meant to be a peacful and nice celebration turned into a frustrating battle.

We were just looking for a nice, quiet, overnight stay in the wine country for our aniversery. We drank wine all day, had a ... wonderful diner at the resort, and enjoyed the night in our beautiful villa. The next day we just kicked it at the spa and the pool. A great experience.

Absolutely Loved It!!
minieandc Aug 7, 2009
Beautiful place to stay. Easy check-in by friendly staff. The room was huge, super clean and very comfortable. I loved the ... spa, which was also extremely clean and staffed by very professional people. My only complaint, and its very minor, is that the TV in the room is so far away from the bed that the remote control is out of range. You can change the channels from the sofa, but my personal preference is to watch in bed. Despite that, this was a great place to stay & I will definitely be coming back.

Hmmmm .... 7 (or 8) complaints
Wine Club Member Jul 27, 2009
7 (or maybe 8) Complaints & 1 Compliment: 1) At registration, though Orbitz' website stated a 3pm check-in, the woman at the ... Registration Desk informed us that the website was incorrect, check-in was at 4pm, and though it was already after 3:15pm, they could not accommodate us until after 4pm. Within minutes of heading back outside into high-90 degree temperatures, we decided to ask once again for an "early" check-in. Fortunately, someone else helped us at the Desk and we were granted access to our accomodations. 2) Upon entering the villa, (only 1 of 2 keys actually worked in the door), the stuffy smell of moldy-mildew emitting from the A/C unit greeted us as we entered. Though still extremely hot outside, the only way we could reduce the odor was to leave the window open above the A/C unit. 3) The room was nicely appointed, but provided only 2 small bottles of drinking water on such a hot day. The bath area was beautiful, but lacked towel bars on which to dry our towels after showering and provided no extras for the following morning. 4) At 6:50am the following morning, we called to request additional towels and were told Housekeeping opened at 7am and they would bring towels promptly. After 2 more calls and 1 hour later, at 8am our towels arrived. 5) When we registered, we were offered "Turn-Down Service" which we accepted for ourselves and for the 2nd villa which we'd reserved for our son and his girlfriend. I requested a 9pm service for both villas. Upon our return that evening after 11pm, neither of the 2 rooms had received service. 6) Each villa was issued a Parking Permit to be prominently displayed on the dashboard and we were instructed to park in 1 of the 4 reserved spaces in front of our 4-unit villa cluster. Apparently, their parking permits (or lack thereof) are not enforced when weddings are held at the rear of their premises next to the reserved parking to the villas. Upon returning late that evening, there was no place to park in front of our villa nor several others and the car parked in our area did not display a Parking Permit. We were inconvenienced by having to park a distance away and having to walk back to our villa. 7) Lastly, on the morning of check-out, I called the Front Desk to request a "late check-out". I should have guessed ... they could not accommodate us and we had to vacate the room by 12 noon. On the positive side, the bed was very comfy and it was very quiet, until (#8)& until about 7am, when the hot-air balloons were launched next door. For the next 30 minutes or so the sounds of released heated gas were heard, as it was blasted into the balloons to raise them above our sleepy heads. But that was OK ... remember, we were waiting for our towels! For our next stay in Temecula, I'll check out the local B&B's...maybe they'll make sure the word "Welcome" on the Welcome mat at the front door isn't upside down!!!

This hotel is top notch, rooms, ambiance (great for a couples get away), service and beautiful grounds. We went up to ... Temecula to attend a Thornton Winery concert, decided to make a weekend of it. Did wine tasting on Saturday, had a delicious dinner at South Coast Winery. Sunday we had lunch at the Pinnacle @Faulkner Winery, slow service good food. Drove out to Lake Skinner to check it out. Sunday night Chris Botti dinner show at the Thornton Winery. Don't think South Coast Winery would a great place for families, not much to do for the kids.
