Great Bargain!
Teen Visiting San Fernando Valley Jan 8, 2010
The Guesthouse is an excellent choice considering the price. The grounds are really nice although the rooms are old and ... outdated butcan be overlooked. I stayed in a room with 1 king bed and thought it not as bad as stated in other reviews, the location is great being a quiet area and close to many attractions. Definitely a good choice

Not as bad as I thought
Funeral attendee Oct 13, 2009
I was looking for a cheap place located near where a funeral was taking place, that wasn't too scary. This place fit the ... bill. The room was clean, and they had a nice selection for breakfast. They also had a computer with internet access that guests could use for free. I was *VERY* disappointed that the pool was closed, and I had no warning prior to check-in. I also recommend getting a room that doesn't face the street, *VERY* noisy otherwise!

Right Price, with Right Expectations
Traveling Mom Sep 7, 2009
We were looking for a low cost hotel close to the Reagan Library and Hollywood that would be safe and reasonably comfortable ... and we found it at the Guesthouse Inn. We were only at the hotel for a short time and, as three ladies, we felt safe. We weren't "grossed out" or anything, but the curtains seemed really dirty, but otherwise the rooms were clean. There was a good breakfast in the morning, too. We would stay there again when visiting L.A.

Centrally located for my destinations.
Wenatchee traveler Jun 29, 2009
This hotel was centrally located for the destinations we went to, Six flags and Universal Studios. It was not the secluded ... garden as described, the grounds were kept up but seemed smaller than advertised. The rooms were clean but the carpets were stained and dingy in the hall ways and lobby. The water pressure in the showers was too strong, almost painful. I was not overly impressed but still consider it a good value for the price because of the location. If you are looking for a hotel to enjoy as more than just a place to sleep while enjoying tourist activities during the day I would not recommend this hotel.

Clean; convenient location; signs of age
Jack May 13, 2009
This was the second time we stayed at this motel. Both times we found the rooms to be clean and the staff friendly but not ... particularly outgoing. There are some signs of aging, e.g., doors chipped and not aligned with frame. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The motel is quite close to the 405 and 118 freeways and not far from the 5. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

We slept here only, only problem was whoever took my reservation spelled my name extremely wrong, so when the lady checking ... me in took my id, she had a hard time looking my reservation up, otherwise, very clean quiet place, professional staff, etc. Maybe they should have a professional plumber come look at their bathroom fixtures as well, the shower head was not installed properly, and the toilet did not flush very strongly because the pieces installed in it were not made for that brand of toilet.

Everything was fine until after check out my boyfriend realized he had left his favorite shirt on a hanger in the room, when ... he went back to find it, no one would admit to having it, the woman who cleaned the room said she didn't see it, probably kept it and gave it to her son. If someone comes back for it, give it back, if they don't, it's fair game.

Good value for the price and location
ROBERT Nov 19, 2007
Cheking in and out was perfect. The hotel could be lighted better on the inside, and the business center needs to have a room ... versus a open area where anyone who is dining can / could view your business. The hotel did offer wireless access in the room, but the business center did not have a operating printer. The morning meal was not bad, but it could be improved if more fresh fruit were available instead of just waffels, cold cereal, hard boiled eggs, and danish rolls. The room was better than I expected, and my only complaints would be that tattered sheets don't need to be placed on the bed (they were clean--very clean in fact--just a bit frayed on the edges). The shower head needs to be improved and replaced or just taken away. I've seen cats put out a stronger stream of water! The location for those who've never traveled to the area makes it tough to get back to the interstate (you have to cross 3 lanes of traffic or drive a few blocks and make a U turn, but hey, that's LA!

For the money, it's an adequate place to stay
Rita Jun 23, 2007
The Guesthouse Inn in Mission Hills was somewhat satisfactory. The grounds were very impressive. The pool was big and clean ... and well taken care of. I had a poolside view on the first floor and a sliding glass door and screen that led me to a path to the pool. On the downside, the lock to the room was broken and I had reported the problem to the main desk twice and it still wasn't fixed. The light to the entry was out and nothing was done to fix the problem. The bathroom wall behind the toilet needed painting and there were only 2 hangers available to hang my clothes, could have used more. All in all, for the small inconvenience, it was a good price for the money. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a moderate room.
