the lodge in sonoma was a perfect choice for our 5 day getaway. the location is central to everything in sonoma and only 20 ... minutes or so to napa. the gardens and plantings around the property are gorgeous and well maintained. the pool area is lovely and has sofa seating at one end also with tables that hold small fire pits for cool evening seating. all the staff were very polite and helpful. we were first given a king room that overlooked broadway, a bit of a busy street with some construction. we asked if we could possibly change rooms if something was available and were upgraded to a private cottage room by the pool at no charge. they offered this without question and we were very impressed. clean room, big bathroom, king bed, flat screen tv, bathrobes and lovely spa toiletries. even the first room we had was lovely inside with all these ammenities also. we would definately return to this property for a stay. they have wine tasting onsite and host numerous weddings on the grounds. its location is only a few block from all the activity and shopping at the sonoma plaza. area has great restaurants too numerous to mention just pick up any sonoma guide book.

Customer service anyone?
Jay Traveler May 25, 2009
This location would have received a higher rating if their staff were actually customer friendly...pretty much ruined the ... stay. At check in, they were just rude and unwelcoming. Other staff were nice, but at check in - it immediately placed a nasty taste in my mouth that I could not wash out with even a gallon of listerine.

Pointed toward room with no offer of help with bags. Compared to other hotels we stayed at in the area very little amenities. ... unhelpful staff, little help from staff, cleaning cart left standing for over an hour in public area.

Great romantic getaway spot!
David May 25, 2008
The Lodge at Sonoma impressed us from the start. From arrival to checkout everything was impeccable. The staff is friendly ... and helpful, the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the cottage we stayed in was very well appointed, current, clean and plush, and the food was exquisite. Proximity to everything was perfect as well. This property is almost perfectly placed at the center of the wine country and is less than a .50 mile from Sonoma town center which is a plus. The staff there is courteous and professional, and the spa had immaculate decor. Our spa experience was totally relaxing. My wife and I enjoyed our visit thoroughly and will be staying at the Lodge next time we visit.
