Good location and price
An European couple in Alexandria Oct 28, 2009
We had a very nice week in Alexandria and in the hotel. The location was very good, about 15 minutes walk to historic center. ... The hotel shuttels were very usuful and all the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also nice. I would make a suggestion to the hotel managment, and this would be that they should buy bigger towels. They are really very, very small.

There is a nice restaurant just in front the hotel. The breakfast buffet is just great and not expensive at all.

I thought the hotel was very nice. Loved the location and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room itself, ... was very nice. A couple of things did not work, the fan in the bathroom and one light. The thermostat, I thought ran a bit warmer than it said. But, those things did not really impact our stay. The small living area separated from the bedrooms was fantastic. It was VERY clean! We also ordered room service the first night we were there and found the service quick and the food delicious! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I thought the location of the hotel was great! You could easily walk to shopping, dining or park facilities. They had shuttle service. We took the shuttle to the airport and caught the metro into DC. Came back on the metro and was picked up again by the shuttle. There really was no need for a car.

Nice stay in Alexandria
Retired Couple Jul 15, 2009
We toured DC and Alexandria. Liked the shuttle service to Reagan to catch the Metro. The hotel could offer more service up to ... King Street without setting up a request. It is a bit of a walk especially if you have already walked a lot in DC. The free trolley service, once you get to King street helps quite a bit. Most of the staff were at the hotel were pleasant and helpful.

Decent Quiet Hotel
Oak Hill Dad Jul 12, 2009
The hotel was in the perfect location for our trip to the Alexandria Birthday Party at Oronoco Park. The room was musty ... smelling at check in but aired out over time. Room size is nice given the "suite" and the microwave and fridge were great for family use. Pool not so clean but hot tub nice. This is a decent hotel but wouldn't work for our family for more than a couple of days.

A nice location a reasonable short drive away from King Street in Old Town Alexandria. The shuttle to and from King Street ... and the airport (to catch the Metro) was very convenient. They gave you a card with the phone number and times (for shuttle to Metro), and they were very responsive. No need to drive to DC or King St, the shuttle and Metro were really handy. Unless you want the security, there's no need to pay $23/night for parking. Free parking on the street with no time limits is a block away (try in front of the Holiday Inn), but there are time limits around the hotel itself. I had no problems parking a block away and leaving the car for entire stay. A Starbucks is 2+ blocks away, and a grocery store is the next block over (and a Trader Joe's is 2 blocks the other way). Definitely a good place to stay for DC and Alexandria (and Mt. Vernon is about 10 minutes away).

The room floor plan good for a small family...division of space. We did see a roach in the room and my husband killed it. ... The staff were VERY apologetic and promised to clean thoroughly our room and/or relocate us. The room was not cleaned thoroughly that day but was the next. We were not relocated...sold out.The front desk, restaurant, and shuttle staff were professional yet friendly and efficient. Particularly front desk clerk [...] and shuttle personnel [...]...but, all should receive applause for their customer service attention! Keep up what y'all are doing because we will return and recommend your establishment to others.

Other than the cost for on-site parking of $22 per day, we found the hotel to be a great value and would love to stay there ... again. The shuttle driver is very helpful in taking you to the area of Old Town for shopping and dining which allows you to leave the car parked. The room was very comfortable and nice. Loved the Starbucks coffee packets for the morning. The bed was super comfortable and ... a good night's sleep. I did not use the pool. There were many children enjoying the pool. There was a local family restaurant right across the street which seemed very popular. It is a short drive or long walk to King Street.
