Check-in was long. The people ahead of us were trying to nickle and dime the place for better rooms, comps, etc. The kitchen ... in the hotel had a gas leak on Saturday night and was closed. Sunday night, even though it says the kitchen stays open til 9pm, it was once again closed. Went up to the bar for bar food to eat (cold food only), and they said "On Sundays, they may close early if there isn't many people." Problem is, the bar was PACKED with people looking for dinner. For no good reason, the electronic keys for both my room and my travel partners room "reset" and after a long walk on a bad knee, we had to go back to stand in line at the desk to have them re-keyed. I've stayed here 2 other times, generally it is good, but this time, no. If it wasn't just so centrally located for my purpose, I'd have looked elsewhere.

My fiancee and I stayed here once before during the remodel and had a pretty good time. We decided to stay again when we ... attended the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance, so we didn't have to worry about parking at the event. The beds were extremely comfortable, but the room is WAY too small for the amount of money we paid. Also, as you are walking through the halls, you can hear everything coming from the rooms. Inside the room it was very quiet, but I don't want anyone hearing what is going on inside my room while they are walking down the corrider. Also, surprisingly, there was not a refrigerator in the room. This is the ONLY hotel I have ever stayed at (and I travel a lot) that did not have a refrigerator.

Very nice and affordable food at the Universal City walk and after a long day at Universal studios it was very nice to eat just outside the gates. Remember to cross the front driveway and take the elevator up to the next level near the Hilton which saves you a walk up part of the hill. The rapid transit at the end of the road was awesome.

I had to upgrade the room in order to get breakfast. Upgrade also included bathrobes and slippers and when we got to the room ... we didn't find them. I called the guest service and they told me that you have to call in order for them to bring bathrobes and slippers. Once I called they were delivered fast, but I wish I didn't have to do it, it would be nicer to have everything ready!

This is the first time that I have ever been charged for parking. If I was a tourist parking for Universal, I would ... understand, but not if I am staying. Indoor smoking, no problem, but out door balcony smoking should be allowed. Our room was hot. The air was not working, we had to finally call for maintenance at 12 midnight. Compliments, The room was quiet, and the Universal bus was appreciated.

Center of it all
Stephens LA Trip May 23, 2009
The location of this hotel was PERFECT for my trip. This hotel was the center of all our major trips throughout LA. It was ... less than 5 minutes from sunset blvd, hollywood. Has a few gas stations, liquor stores, and fast food joints for those late night runs. Close to City walk, within walking distance. The hotel hosted a small pr0n convention webinar while we were there, but that wasn't the kicker. The highlight of the hotel is the location. Again the location was within reasonable driving distance to where we went. About 45 min. drive to Six Flags, walking distance to Universal studio's, not far from korea town or chinatown. Also good simple drive from hotel to City of industry and San Gabriel county. Also convienent to LAX.

First off THE BEDS, COMFORTERS AND PILLOWS ARE HEAVENLY !!!(worth every extra penny paid to stay in a nicer hotel !) I never ... had one backache or stiff neck in the morning !!! Efficient cleaning staff and a very, very nice maintenance man. Really enjoyed the location as we had a rental car and the parking felt very secure and safe.Rooms were a little on the small side but had a very nice view. Would not recommend being on the top floor near the elevator as there was a repetitive noise that kept me awake a few nights (maybe the plumbing ?).Definitely needs a small fridge in the room as room service was way overpriced !!! Enjoyed being close to Universal studios. The feel of the whole hotel was nice and enjoyable.

First of all, you have to pay to park at the hotel that you are staying at, which to me is crazy, when it's $$$ per night or ... more, then add $ to park your car per night. We stayed for 3 nights, and never had a maid in our room once. While the view from our room was nice, the elevators were being worked on, and caused long delays in the AM as only one was working. A friend stayed in a room near the pool at the same time, and the room they were placed in was so dirty upon check in, they had to be moved to another room at 1 am. I stayed in several hotels during the week, and for the price, this hotel fell short. Most others included free breakfast and wifi, and free parking for half the price.

Unless you don't like money in your pocket, you'll want to eat elsewhere. It costs more for 2 people for breakfast than to feed a family of 8 dinner at a local mexican restaurant...really.

I love the Sheraton!
Lolo Apr 22, 2009
My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton for our anniversary. I called ahead and asked if there was anything special I could ... do to the room before we arrived to surprise my husband. I spoke with Fernando and he arranged a very romantic setting for my husband and I. There were rose petals as we entered the room with chocolate covered strawberries and assorted cheese. He also had a bottle of Chardonnay chilling. We were very surprised and happy. We stayed at the Sheraton for quick access to Universal Studios. It took about 5 minutes to walk up to Universal Studios from the Sheraton. Great location! I love traveling somewhere where I don't have to drive to get to an attraction. They do provide a shuttle but we didn't use it. During these times, money is tough, and we didn't spend alot to stay at the Sheraton but we were treated like we had. Excellent service.

Citywalk is a great place to enjoy good food, dancing, and drinks. There are several good resturants...Saddleranch was great and Bubba Gubbs has great seafood. There is a rumba club that is alot of fun but I liked the Saddle ranch to just hang out.

we had stayed at this hotel in December and since then, they have renovated and it is beautiful...however, we used the pool ... at about 9pm and there were no lights on in the pool or jacuzzi but and this was during regular posted hours...we still had fun but seemed like a liability. We would stay there again and recommend it to others

The Sheraton was comfortable and I liked that it was close to Universal Studios theme park and City Walk. The free shuttle ... was a great benefit. The hotel was under remodeling/construction which was a little bothersome but not to bad. The room was a little dated, small with no microwave or refrigerator.

I went for work and it was a short trip so i didnt eat at the hotel restaurant but the bar was rockin in the evening with ... live music. It is very close to univeral walk which has tons of things to do including lots of restaurants, stores and a movie theater. Its about 20 mins to hollywood. There is a nice looking pool and jacuzzi but i didnt get to utilize.
