The Flamingo Las Vegas is a tropical paradise located in the center of the famous Las Vegas "Strip."
"Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place." The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, five distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000 square-foot retail store. The menu reflects the flavors of Jimmy Buffett's island travels. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A fun and funky burger bistro that serves up a sizzling selection of classic favorites and divine indulgences, Burger Joint is conveniently located by the casino, wildlife habitat and pool complex for lunch, dinner, or drinks. Full burger menu includes unique choices like Buffalo Chicken Burger and Hawaiian Burger, and an elaborate list of toppings so patrons can create their own signature masterpieces; as well as soups, salads, entrees, desserts and adult beverages.
For nearly a decade, Hamada of Japan has been a Las Vegas favorite for those seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience.
Even Bugsy Siegel liked to take a break from the action from time to time - and the bars of the Flamingo proudly honor this tradition. From a laid-back lounge that looks out to our Wildlife Habitat to a bar where gamers gather in the middle of the blazing casino floor, the Flamingo Las Vegas is packed with refreshing options.
This 24-hour casual dining restaurant overlooks the beautiful Flamingo Wildlife Habitat. Cuisine is traditional American fare with an extensive array of appetizers, pastas, soups, salads and home-style entrees. Enjoy a fresh breakfast or stop in for an afternoon snack.
Watch the playful antics of live penguins and flamingos while enjoying a fresh feast at the Paradise Garden Buffet. Enjoy a scrumptious salad and fresh fruit bar along with mounds of shrimp on ice, Alaskan crab legs and seafood salads.
Serving freshly brewed gourmet coffee, espresso and cappuccino, Java Coast also offers sandwiches, desserts and Nathan's Famous hot dogs (southwest casino location only). Both locales offer indoor and patio seating.
The finest steaks and seafood are served in a steakhouse so romantic and elegant, you'll want to savor every moment. The softly lit restaurant is impressive, with rich oak paneling, marble and mosaic floors, fine art, antiques and elegant furnishings.
During the summer months, guests can grab a light snack or relaxing lunch at the Flamingo Beach Club Cafe, with a front-row seat on the sparkling blue waters of the Upper Pool.
With cutting-edge equipment and more than 50,000 square feet of versatile banquet and meeting space - including the 20,800 square-foot Sunset Ballroom - groups as small as 20 or as large as 2,000 will find the Flamingo's facilities ideal for tasteful dinner parties, posh cocktail receptions, or productive business conferences.

Upon arrival we found a smell in the room that was so strong it burnt our eyes. Caught the maid in the hall and she went out ... of her way to correct this problem and was very friendly. She even stopped us the next night to see if it was better. We found the room to be old, with the ceiling pealing, the bath was outdated, but the view was good of the pool area. I have stayed at other hotels for the same price that didn't have as great a location and regretted it because you're so far away from everything. Clean rooms, nothing fancy. The initial check in was ok w/staff, however, after receiving 2 rooms that had housekeeping still in them when I got there, I ... was a little frusterated! [...]when we got there - were told they were out of those rooms in the upgraded category we had chosen. We could have gone to ... a lesser room, but without a "refund." Our room was very clean, but the carpet in the hallways was NOT. I loved the way the rooms were decorated - very contemporary. They allowed us to check out one hour later, but beyond that, it will cost you $35. We were able to have our bags held until our later departure... no charge, but expect to tip the baggage handlers. It is close to the rest of the strip - across from Ceaser's & not far from Paris and the Bellagio (and the fountain shows).

Not Happy at the Flamingo
Ken Jan 30, 2010
This is the 4th time I've stayed at the Flamingo. I choose it becaise of the center strip location and the affordable ... price. Well....this is the last time I wil stay there. The room had cigarette burns on the carpet, the bathroom light fixtures were rusty and covered with a layer of dust, and the shower had paint peeling from the ceiling. I've stayed before in rooms that had already been updated (the GO rooms) and was happy, but my room should not have even been used until it was updated. Also...The food at the Tropical breeze was awful (breakfast). The food was over shadowed only by being called "Sweetie", "Dear" and "Young Man" (I'm 44, hardly a yound man) by the waitress.

Great Weekend Getaway
Carmie Jan 26, 2010
I read other reviews about lengthy check in/out but not at all! I arrived at the hotel at 1:40 and was in my room and ... unpacked by 2:15. The room was clean with plenty of space and a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was clean, shower had great pressure and the towels were so soft, I wondered if they were new. The staff was so friendly and helpful. So many entertainers/shows to choose from. I saw Bette Midler at Cesars Palace which was easy to walk to. I also saw The Lion King at Mandalay Bay for half price and took the bus which ran frequently and cost $3.00. The whole trip was a blast. I had never been to Las Vegas before. I am certain I'll be going again, and soon!!

Needs Work!
Bill Jan 26, 2010
The hotel gave a nice atmosphere with great service from hotel staff but that is where it stopped. In the hallways of the ... hotel, the odor was terrible; it smelled like a sewer. Our shower had mold and mildew stains in the grout. The sink faucet was rotted with obvious metal work done to it. The paint on the cabinets was so worn that it looked like they never had been painted. The carpet in the room was so discolored you could see the ware marks from years of use. The chair's wheels were broke in the room and they look like they had been there since the place opened. The TV was a 2001; I know this because I had the same one, it was not a flat panel like they show on the web site. In short I have seen better rooms in a small mom and pop motel; totally unexpected from a supposed top notched hotel casino.

Some friends and I spent 2 nights at the Flamingo. The room was okay for the price we paid, but the dacor was outdated and ... the heat was on in the room the first night. Wireless internet was $16/day, I don't know if all hotels in LasVegas charge for internet, but I was surprised and disappointed! The buffet at the Flamingo was terrible! The property overall was very clean and well kept. They let us check into the room a few hours early and 1 hour late the day we checked out.

If you're just looking for a hotel room in a good location the Flamingo is fine. Go elsewhere to eat and drink. There are many places to go that are close with better food and better prices. Gambling is so-so here but we were there in December so overall gambling was down everywhere. If you're looking for a hotel that has it all consider others even if you spend more money. Paris, Venetian, or Mirage are good examples. Paris looked the most interesting.
