Very beautiful, great service, very comfortable bed..tv is large. They gave me an ocean view. I dont do elevators so they put ... me on the second floor which wass only a short walk upstairs. The stairs were easily accessable, which is great, I have been to hotels where I had to get security or maintenance to let me use them, but not here, they were very accomadating.

They said, housekeeping included, not true, they just change towels three times in a week but they don't clean up the ... apartment, they don't tide up the bed or do dishes. As it is near Legoland, many kids were at the hotel but being in the 2nd floor I could hear people in the 3rd floor, talking, babies crying, the shower and their steps too. I really expected other kind of hotel I am disappointed.

Great family accomodation
Kim Nov 17, 2009
We went for family holiday with 2 boys (4 and &). Great location if taking in Legoland - can walk there. Great staff and ... food from Karl Strauss restaurant. Rooms lovely and spacious (1 bedroom condo)but no daily housekeeping. Only do housekeeping on Tues and Thurs and even then we only got our towels restocked. No bedsheets changed, no vacuuming and bathroom not cleaned either so I was disappointed with this. However, this wouldn't deter me from staying again but I would request better housekeeping services. The room was spotless upon our arrival. Great pool and water park area for kids at the family pool! Great daily kid's activities (ie: tie-dyed t-shirts).

This is our second vacation at the Grand Pacific Palisades and we had a great time. My son who is 4 wanted to stay at the ... hotel and play in the pool more than he wanted to go to the amusement parks. I would recommend this hotel for any family to stay at while in Carlsbad, CA.

Great location for Legoland Visitors
Surf Cup Soccer Mom Jul 28, 2009
Upon check-in we were told that due to housekeeping issues we were being upgraded to their sister property, the Sheraton ... Carlsbad. Can't comment much on the Grand Pacific Palisades. It looked very nice, the pool and lobby were overrun with Legoland age kids. Checked out the pool at night and it is a great location to sit by the outdoor fire and enjoy the hot tub. Everyone looked like they were having a great time. We were told that we could also use the amenties at this site as well but did not fit it in to our schedule. Plus side for Sheraton Carlsbad is they have a private entrance for guests to use to get in to Legoland. If you do not have small children and are not going to Legoland, you may find this place too noisy during summer season travel. There were a lot of 4-8 years olds running around.

Amazing!!!!
Birthday Girl Jul 27, 2009
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. There is underground parking which is great for vehicle security. ... We were there with our two children (1yr & 5yr) and they had an awesome time! The kids pool is wonderful! There was also a playground for the kiddos that they really enjoyed. This place is about 5 - 10 min walking distance to Legoland. We were able to save on the parking and just walk over there. We could actually see Legoland from our hotel room. It is 20 min north of San Diego, but well worth the drive. It's only 5 min from the beaches in Carlsbad. We all had an amazing time and will definitely stay there for any future CA trips.

We arrived more than 5 hours before check in and they tried very hard to get us in early. We did wait 4 hours, but were ... given access to the pools so the kids had a great time. I liked having a refrigerator and micro in the room, and the beds were very comfortable. Nice staff and free shuttle.

Across the street from Legoland, but you won't be disturbed by the park if it's not your reason for staying (you won't even ... know it's there!). Separate pools for kids (max depth 4ft) and adult (lap pool). Kids pool has a water park-ish area.

Being on Business, I look for a good solid location. I particulary enjoyed the Karl Strauss restaurant on the premise. All ... resort staff that I serviced me were outstanding. I did find that my room had only one accessible wall plug and that was located under the work desk. Now if you have a computer, cell phone, and Ipod to be charged you are very disadvantaged.

Great Weekend
Cathy Mar 3, 2009
My husband and I visited Legoland and stayed at the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort, and also reserved a room for my son and ... his family. My 5 yr.old grandson loved sleeping so close to Legoland, and he looked forward to reserving the shuttle bus that took him everywhere he wanted to go. The shuttle service took us to Legoland and even drove us to dinner at Carlsbad Village, to a wonderful Italian restaurant, which I would have not found myself without getting lost in the rain. We set times for pick-ups and the shuttle arrived promptly. We felt very pampered and this made our mini family vacation very special. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The rooms were lovely and clean, however, we found the pillows to be very stiff and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the guests upstairs were making noise stomping around and jumping was heard late into the night hours, in both of our rooms which were located several rooms apart. Aside from that inconvenience, overall, our weekend was very nice and we would recommend to stay again.

Pacific Palisades is located in a great area near many of the attractions Carlsbad has to offer. Great golf, Legoland, ... shopping are all very close. We love the area and would stay there again. The rooom was very comfortable with a sofa area and a very roomy bathroom. I also enjoyed relaxing at the family pool with my grandchildren. They loved the water play area.
