The hotel was fine for what we wanted - good location, inexpensive. I was however very disappointed in Orbitz' business ... practices. A change in our schedule resulted in our needing only one night. We paid in advance for 2. Orbitz was completely inflexible relative to changing this, a very standard request. Since the reservation was booked through you, there was no opportunity to modify directly with the hotel; when I called Orbitz, supposedly you attempted to negotiate a change, but I frankly don't believe there was any genuine effort as the hotel would have certainly made the change if i booked direct with them.

unsanitary hotel rooms
m clovis Jul 26, 2009
we booked two rooms, one for our guests from germany. we stayed in this hotel for a vacation. we went to san francisco and ... other nearby cities.we were shocked with the look of the rooms, particularly the beds and restrooms.we were embarrassed with our guests. my son got bug bites from the bed that need medication until now. there is a metal that protrudes in one of the beds in our room. you have to be careful each time you go out of that bed on not to step or bump the said metal or else you will hurt yourself. the pictures of the hotel and its rooms in orbitz website are very different with the looks of the actual hotel and rooms. we tried to cancel our last day in the hotel but the staff there were rude. we did not experience this kind of misfortune in our previous trips.

Good Place for business travlers
bay area travler Jul 19, 2009
has free wi fi, microwave, and fridge in the room. So this is a great place if you go to work in the bay area rather than do ... the back and forth thing.

Stacks restaurant nearby is open for breakfast and lunch and is very good. Many other options are within a short drive. Redwood City is the county center and is about a 5 minute drive; there is a delightful assortment of ethnic restaurants on Broadway, plus a movie theater.

Cheap and clean
Frequent Traveller May 9, 2009
I believe this place claimed a fitness center, or at least access to one. There wasn't anything. On the other hand, the price ... was good. I have stayed at the other America's Best Inn in Redwood City and this one in San Carlos is significantly better - in particular, the sheets were clean here.

Older building,
Bonnie Oct 5, 2008
This was probably a nice place in the 1970's, but now needs renovating. Bathtub area had mold, water pipes KNOCKED loudly ... from other units, a table lamp could not be used as there was no plug available. The small refrig and m/w were nice ammenities. The room was fairly clean. The continental breakfast was a simple small container of orange juice and packaged coffee cake. There was a spa room which we did not check out. It does offer internet access and was reasonably priced for that area. Staff was friendly and they have adequate parking. It is two story, with no elevator and is across the street from the Caltrain tracks.
