Hotel was newly remodeled. Mayan theme. Great resturant. Food was very good. Attentive wait staff. Convenient to down town. ... Shuttles easy to use.
Traveler type: Business
Most of the attractions in Downtown Long Beach are a good walk away from the Maya. About 1-1/2 to 2 miles to walk. There is a convenient shuttle pick up in the parking lot and it runs til midnight. The Queen Mary is just a couple block walk, but that is it.

Great for the price.Beautiful views, room decor, very clean excellant customer service. The gym was a small room the size of an ... office with 2 tredmills and a few weighed balls. I did not like the fact they charge you for parking $10.00 day. Then if you go into down town you have to pay for parking again around $10.So pretty much your stuck with the free trolly, constant sudden braking for stops that you get sick to your stomach. And dont try and go down Pine for breakfast cause theres nothing open till 10a.m.OTHERWISE I WILL RETURN NEXT YEAR...BETTER PREPARED.LAN AHEAD WITH AN ICE CHEST..SAVES YOU MONEY ON BEER,SNACKS,FOOD,SODA..EVERYTHING JUST TO RELAX. oH and the restrrom door slides closed leaving a gap...not very private.

This hotel has a great location and views of the bay are amazing. The staff could have been friendlier and more helpful when ... ordering room service and incedentals. The hotel was very nosiy and if I stay next time I would stay on the top floor to avoid the noise from the people walking above. Otherwise a great hotel!

GREAT ROOM, DINING ROOM WAS WONDERFUL, GREAT WATER LOCATION AND WE HAD A BAY VIEW AND BALCONY AT AN EXTREMELY REASONABLE PRICE. WE WOULD RETURN IN A HEARTBEAT.

we had a great view from our balcony which is the highlight of this hotel. The room looks nice but the AC would freak out ... every morning and wake us up. the sliding bathroom door didn't close properly (poor craftsmanship for a 4 star hotel) so there was zero privacy. If we had been paying the normal rates we would have been annoyed. I would not give this a 4 star rating.

The central location of the hotel on the river in relation to Long Beach was excellent for getting anywhere we wanted to go. Hotel Maya is excellent
Bonnie Jul 30, 2009
We booked a bay view room. When we arrived there, we were asked to pick a patio(for first-floor rooms) or a balcony(for ... upper-floor rooms), and we picked a patio one. It was excellent view especially at night with lights on skyrises around the bay, and it had patio, lawn, and a beautiful lake/bay just outside the french door. There are lots of boats passing by, and people walking by or fishing. The service is very good too. There was a couple getting a wedding ceremony there and the couple's friends lived in neighboring rooms on the day we arrived. I called the front desk after 11 pm because it was still noisy outside of our room, and they sent security to quiet it down very quickly. There was a bus stop for the hotel and the bus is free to ride, from the hotel to downtown and back.
