OK but outdated

Okay motel with good amenities but definitely showing it's age. The furniture and carpets haven't been updated (or cleaned) ... in a decade. Nice pool and sauna but overpriced considering the alternatives.

Great price for the high quality

We were in town for just one night, but we wanted to stay someplace better that just a cheap motel. This motel was just $20 ... more than the cheapest motel in town, but the quality and the comfort of the room made it an enjoyable and memorable stay. The free breakfast was great.

Liked the hotel and the staff. Main complaint was the fan on the heater/AC kept turning on and off all night. I like a fan ... that stays on and the heater or AC engages as needed to keep the room at the designated temperature. Since my room was so close to a main road, the fan would have made the sleeping better by drowning out the noise of passing cars. Also, the bath tub had a large crack and should be replaced. It may be tiem to update the entire room but overall it was comfortable and I would stay there again. Next time I will ask for a room at the back.

Belated honeymoon night. Room far surpassed our expectations - wish we could have had more time to enjoy facility. Came ... down from Portland to visit grandparents and just had the one night. Will definitely come back and recommend the Shilo Inn.

Nice location, but not the best service!

Our main complaint is that when we called to confirm our reservation with the hotel before heading to Bend, we were told that ... we had a queen bed instead of the King that we had requested. My husband is 6, 7' and needs a king! They would not accommodate us when asked if there were any kings available. So my dad called for us, who is very firm and demanding. All of the sudden there was a king available with a spa for a small upgrade. Thanks to dad! When we arrived there was a dirty towel and on the 2nd day our toilet paper was not restocked. We came back to the hotel after a day of site seeing to no TP! The indoor pool was somewhat dirty and not warm enough. On the plus side the hotel is in a great location, the free buffet breakfast was good, and the view of the river was great! This is why I would still recommend this hotel. Location will never change, but maybe our bad luck with our room won't happen for you. Just make sure to call the hotel directly to make sure you get the room you want!

We arrived late at night and were greeted by a very unfriendly staff person who claimed she couldn't find our reservation. ... We finally got into the room and it was very dated - the hotel is non-smoking, though the smell of smoke still permeated the room. It was noisy in the morning, so that made sleeping in difficult on a relaxing weekend trip. As for the location, it was fairly central, but you do need to drive everywhere everywhere from the hotel. If you're looking for a central downtown hotel, this is not it. Overall, it was a good value, but I think I'll stay elsewhere the next time I'm in Bend.

We went here for Labor Day weekend and had a great time. The room was spacious and included a stocked kitchenette. The place ... is right near the river and it has two pools, one outdoor and one indoor. They have a great breakfast buffet with pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit, etc... The place is a little bit on the older side and some rooms are more updated than others. It was very clean though and we didn't have any problems but if you are looking for a brand new facility, this is simply a well maintained older motel.

Wedding reception that went on and on..

Our first evening was wonderful. Then Saturday there was a wedding reception held at Shilo. The reception went on and on.. I ... thought it might last until midnight and did not want to complain. Well, I finally called the front desk at 1:00 a.m. and asked how long the party would be there. I told the front desk they were loud and kept waking us up. Front desk said they would send security soon. They did. I was disappointed that they had not had security walk that way during the evening since they knew they had an event that was suppose to be over. At check out I talked with front desk and they said they had many complaints that the wedding party was loud. There was no suggestion of any discount or anything else for this disappointment. It would have been better to have the wedding party stay close to the rooms by the reception and have the rest of us in rooms away from that area if security was not going to be by to make sure they were quiet and leave when they were suppose to.

The Hotel isn't the most amazing place you will ever stay, but for the price you really can't beat it. I got a great room ... that was said to be on the river. Little did we realize that our room walked out to the river! Absolutely gorgeous scenery. The room was comfortable and clean. Although we slept in one day and they never came back to clean up. That was the only issue we ever had however. The location is great. There is a beautiful park near by, and its minute from downtown or loads of other locations. I highly recommend the Shilo Inn. You will be pleased with your stay, it's quiet, beautiful and everyone is VERY friendly.

Very family friendly, AMAZING beer brewed on location, movies for only $1-3!! Plus the theatres serves food and has couches. Check out the soaking pool and you gotta have a marionberry milkshake. The best I've ever had!

McMenamis Old St Francis School reataurant; we both had the very worst ever short ribs, fat & almost impossible to chew, after waiting about one hour and a half for the food to be served. And the by-the-glass wine is very expensive and not very good.
