We spent five ninghts here and never saw anyone to clean our condo, we had to wash our towels half way through the week so we ... could continue to shower. The zero entry pool is very nice, but the fitness center is very small for the required $75 resort fee. The area itself is nice, there is no beach nearby.

Go to Harriettes for breakfast the biscuits are the best, MM 95 on the bayside. Mandalays a short walk from the resort is very good for dinner.

Great Townhome SuperClean What a Deal!
Ninjadine Aug 20, 2009
The "resort villas" really is a community of local residents (40%) and owners who through a management company rent out their ... properties(60%). We had an excellent townhome with 2 bedrooms, super clean and with all the necesities. The master bedroom had an excellent jacuzzi for 2. The pool and hot tub is located through the clubhouse. The hot tub was small but very romantic with waterfalls. We were glad to have a full refrigerator, stove, oven, washer/dryer and dishwasher. We didn't have a view of anything but trees off the balcony, but for the price we expected that would be the case. We did not have maid service the whole time we were there. Although, they did have plenty of extra towels, toilet paper and even dishwashing liquid & trial size laundry detergent. The only thing we needed was salt/sugar/spices and oil to cook. We brought our own snacks and groceries which worked out wonderful. We thought the resort was beachfront property or close to the beach. Well mostly all of the Keys is on rock, therefore not really any beaches. Glad we planned a couple of days in Miami for that sooooo desired beach time. We had a great time! Drove down to Key West for a day, rented jet skis and did some shopping. The next day we went snorkeling at Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, it was amazing. The staff there are very friendly--highly recommend. On our drive back to Miami stopped to take a quick gator tour of the everglades, it was Okay.

Very beautiful facility and the customer service was top notch. The apartment we stayed was as high end as it gets. ... Incredible view with all the amnenities. The service at the marina was top notch and this was easily the best experience we have had at the Keys in over 15 years of visiting the area. For what you get Mariners Club is an exceptional bargain.

Not what we had expected
Young professional couple Aug 12, 2009
The room that we booked and the room that we stayed in were not the same. Upon check in, we were forced to provide a seperate ... credit card than the one we booked the room with. When we were questioning this practice, it was explained that they needed to hold an additional card, with additional funds held on this card for the next 15 days in the event of incidentals. When we explained that we were not comfortable with this, we were told the only other option we had is to forefit the reservation. Furthermore, it is not any part of managment that does the walkthrough and assessment, it's housekeeping. Highly unprofessional. Other than that, the pools were nice, but that's about it.

Great Value from Orbitz
Kilimlady Aug 9, 2009
Our condo was a very lovely 2 bedroom 2 bath with a great kitchen and a balcony that had a view of the pool as well as the ... ocean. The only thing that I wish we could have was a beach. The other drawback is that there is no convenience store either in the complex or at walking distance. So you MUST go there with your water, snacks or breakfast if you are going in late.

We had a wonderful dinner at Sundowner's which was very well prepared, although the service was a little slow. We did, however, enjoy our friends and had time to talk and listen to the music instead of eating a quick meal and running out!

We loved the Keys, but it took 4 room tries before we finally got one that didn't have ants in bedroom, bathroom and kitchen ... or water damaged/moldy carpet. The good news is the staff was willing to work with us to find a room that didn't have problems. With no beach, no sunset view, and these kind of problems, how did it get top rating? However, the Keys were great!

Eat at the Hungry Tarpon at Robbie's in Islamorado!!! Don't judge from the exterior though. It's a small place right by where you feed the tarpon (do that too!!!). The food was the best we had during our week long stay and no one had even recommended it. We found it because we had fed the tarpon out on the pier at Robbie's Marina (you should too!) and then were hungry. Delicious - best fresh seafood and dishes - plus very flexible with sides! Chef was awesome, even came to our table to talk with us. Tres magnific!!! Staff was superb! Can't say enough good things about this dining experience!

1st family vacation w/ 22 month child Aug 3, 2009
I loved the CONDO however I wish it had direct access to the water at the small but quaint beach. I loved that we didnt have ... to worry about housekeeping coming into our room unless requested. A true private condo experience! The only thing I didnt like was the gap under the door that lead to the 2 bedroom condo next door. We could hear their kids and smell their cooking all weekend long. I think if the gap was sealed it would have cut down on the noise...and the small children next door sticking their fingers under the door!! I loved the place otherwise and plan on bringing the WHOLE family back and staying in a 2-3 bedroom condo. The one bedroom was VERY spacious and had more than enough room to set up a pack-n-play in the livingroom giving my husband and I our own bedroom at night. Its nice when you dont have to share a room with a little one. The staff was amazing and very hospitable. Thank you Mariners Club for a wonderful family vacation!

I suggest the Whale Harbor Buffet located in Islamarada if you love to sample many different types of seafood. The staff was absolutely amazing there. Plus, they have several choices for the kiddos who dont like (or cant eat)seafood! Also we really enjoyed the Fish House in Key Largo.

I booked this placed based on photos on line and photos of pool which seemed "high end" like the Mirage in Las Vegas. We ... only needed a room for the night but figured we'd pay a bit more for a nice pool. Due to a delay in our flight, we didn't arrive unitl 9pm - just in time for dinner before bed. After a long flight we were really looking forward to a swim in the fabulous pool (which was the biggest reason we booked this property!). Unfortunately, the pool had been repaired earlier in the day and was closed. We asked for the resort fee to be waiver but got stuck paying this additional money for nothing. We had a "so-so" dinner at the only restaurant. The waiters in t-shirts and plastic tables gave appearance of a burger joint. This was a bit too laid back for the delux appearance of this property and the prices too high for such a laid back dining experience. The condo we had was beautifully decorated and very clean. I could imagine bringing the family and staying a week here in the future. We got up early to take a swim before we had to leave at 0900, but pool still closed. There was no place to eat on property so I felt ripped off paying the resort fee for the one night we were there. This is a beautiful place but if your just staying a night on your way to Key West, you probably won't get your money's worth once you factor in another $30 in resort fees.

No one mentioned that if you rent a 1st floor unit you have no parking and throughout the entire trip of 3 nights I had to ... ask which unit I could park my car that was close to where I was actually staying very inconvenient I am on vacation to relax not to get stressed out. Then I did not feel that resort feeling, I live in Florida I could have stayed home at my own resort style community and save some money boring for a teenager, nothing close by to enjoy no beach no entertainment waste of money waste of mileage waste of time. Also, the appearance was not very welcoming I was greeted at the front of the unit by other peoples trash and unswept driveways.

We arrived at 4 pm and had to wait an hour for our room. We were supposed to have an ocean view. There was a view of the ... ocean over the marina and between their other building and some shack of a restaurant. So 30 to 40 percent of our view was ocean and 60 percent restaurant and hotel building. The room appeared luxurious but furniture was broken and appliances didn't work. The master bedroom lock was broken and the master bath was open to the bedroom so that was a problem. The bathroom was beautiful but the tub was broken and some of the lights didn't work. One of the blinds in the main room was missing so my nursing wife had to retreat to the bedroom to feed our newborn. The Televisions were adequate for a holiday inn but not for a room at this price. The second day of our stay they parked a stinky and I mean stinky! dumpster right in front of the entrance to our building. The room was luxurious but for the price I was expecting better quality.
