Huge room, noisy A/C, diffident staff, odor of fish and garlic from the restaurant - ok for eating, but not sleeping. ... Enjoyed location in Upper East Side.

The best feature was the location of the property. Only a block away from Central Park, and close to the Museum Mile. ... Accomodations were clean, although dated, and Staff were ok. Room Service was unavailable, and hotel restaurant was closed for service on one of the two days of our stay. Never saw the Concierge the whole time we were there, and were on our own for hunting down our meals and booking tours. For the price of the room per night, I would probably look around for a better deal. The value of our dollar on this hotel did not meet my expectations.

Hotel Surrey is located very near New York's great art museums. Met, Whitney, Guggenheim, Frick and others are only a short ... walk away. Since rooms are suites, we were able to do our own breakfasts and cocktail hours and save some money. The Boulud restaurant is tres exceptionel. Two spacious closets. Quiet.

A fast little restaurant around the corner proved to be a great place to grab breakfast before beginning our day (if you choose not to just stock up the kitchenette).

The Surrey Hotel provided a clean, large room in a convenient location. The hotel is older, but not shabby. The room had ... plenty of space, including a full kitchenette with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, and accompanying dishes. Fridge was well stocked with most anything you would want to drink (for a price...). Room also had a table with two chairs and 2 additional stuffed chairs. We still had room to set up two suitcase stands. We found the service to be quite attentive: bellmen, doorman, turndown service, and a wonderful concierge that assisted us in obtaining hard-to-get theater tickets and arranged for dinner reservations. Room service is available through the restaurant next door, but we didn't use it. Central Park is a block away and the subway station about three blocks away. We experienced an enjoyable stay at the Surrey Hotel and would stay again.

Large room with kitchenette in very nice location; 1 block from central park, 3 blocks from Metropolitan Museum. Friendly ... staff. Well maintained.
