Fantastic place
fun_365 Nov 17, 2009
I was there attending a conference, the place is beautiful, you don't need to leave cause you have everything inside the ... resort. It is so big we all got lost several times.Various restaurants some of them serve delicious food however they are pricey. Multiple shuttles to the airport, downtown, and to a huge mall that is part of the resort itself.Musical fountain, boats, falls and all that makes you enjoy your stay. I have one comment is that my room was very small and old, no flat screen TV, no microwave, and the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable and old. I would recommend this resort but I will ask for a better room cause some of my friends had better rooms.

I was lost the entire time I was there. Although maps were available I still had extreme difficulty navigating. Also: I had ... booked a Super Shuttle to & from the airport. When the Concierge called for my return to airport trip, the Super Shuttle told her that I was to wait at the Magnolia Lobby. It never went there. The Valet from the Magnolia Lobby called the Super Shuttle. The people he reached stated that the Shuttle was to arrive at the Cascades Lobby - where I was initially told to be & whwere I WAS when making the initial call through the Concierge. This was awful on the part of the Super Shuttle, and I took it personally, as a fact that they did not want to help me make my departure flight on time. I was thankful for the Valet, but terrifically disappointed in the Super Shuttle. This put a whole sour taste on the entire trip.

When I went to check in, they said I was a day late. [...] I was told I had been "eliminated" from their incoming file and ... would have to be reinstated. This took forever and when we finally went to a room it was not a king size bed as requested and it was not clean. My wife was furious and called the desk and we were moved to a bed with a king.....what a hassel!

Hotel Extraordinary, Rooms Lackluster
Family of three Oct 18, 2009
The hotel itself was lovely. The gardens, waterfalls, and lush scenery were breathtaking. However, when we saw our room (in ... the Garden Conservatory section), we were a little underwhelmed. First of all there was a dirty sock in the middle of the floor, the bathtub had that yucky black, mold-looking substance around the edge, and the furniture looked shabby. The one perk was the patio off of the room that let out into the gardens. As for expense, be prepared to spend an arm and a leg! The "resort fee" and parking fee are outrageous! If you decide to eat in the hotel, that will be another huge expense. Just be prepared for the sticker shock!

Nice but over priced
li Oct 11, 2009
The hotel is beautiful but the room is just average for the price you pay. When we arrived we found out we didn't get the ... king bed we had reserved. Something about thats just a request. Also there is a self parking charge of $18 plus tax and then I read on the back of key holder that there was a $15 resort fee. There is alot of things to do there including river boats, bars and shopping but we had two mixed drinks at a lounge that was $26 before tip. If we go back we will stay at a near hotel and just visit this hotel.

The Gem of Nashville
Stephanie&Mike Aug 30, 2009
The hotel is wonderful but we experienced only slight problems while at this resort. The keys 'died' quite a bit forcing us ... to constantly get new keys that worked. We did have a slight problem with the hotel shuttle that would make us reconsider it for the next time. The driver had told us that he would be there to pick us up 5 after 35 after and 45 after. After waiting for a little over an hour, my fiance and I ended up taking a taxi, which the hotel was suppose to credit us. After the third time of dealing with this, they did make good on it before we checked out but it was a hassle that we shouldn't have had to deal with at this caliber of resort.

Basically everything you would ever want is located within your reach at the Gaylord Opryland. And as if that isn't enough for you, you are within in steps or a short shuttle of one of the largest 'outlet' malls that I've ever been to. Further, you it is also in the same vicinity of the Grand Old Opry and as well as their museum. Guitar fans? a wonderful Gibson store is located here where you can purchase the guitar of your choice for a fraction of its retail cost. There are also many great restaurants with different types of fare within Downtown Nashville, which is about a 15 minute drive.
