OVERPRICED!!!
Rob Jan 3, 2010
When we arrived we found there was a $18 per day price to SELF park your car, $25 to valet. There is also a $15 hotel charge ... upon leaving for which you get 2 bottles of water, a newspaper and wireless internet. About $80 on a two day stay upon leaving. We got to our room and found disturbing graffiti that was mostly removed from over one of the beds. The Hotel is attached to a convention center is very large with many OVER priced bars/restuarants/shops. The hotel is broken into sections and has beautiful atriums. If you have to go to an event at the convention center, stay at Opryland. If you want to experience Nashville and save some money, stay downtown.

Kelly Jan 1, 2010
I liked this hotel very much. It is certainly beautiful, but it is overpriced once you add in all the fees they slam you ... with. Seriously--$18 per day to self park????? 20 resort fee??? What is next a camera surcharge? Housekeeping was phenomenal. Our room was cleaned to perfection. Couldn't believe how good a job they did. Glad I came here and saw it. Would not come back again.

Janet W Jan 1, 2010
We went there for the New Year Eve with the kids and the in-laws. Everybody had a great time. The weather was cold but the ... hotel offered plenty of activities to keep everyone busy (and happy). It also helped that the Opry Mills is next to the resort. The trip was festive but not too overwhelming. I definitely recommend it to families looking for a nice weekend getaway. The restaurants are nice but a little pricey, as expected.

A group of my friends and I got together to come to Nashville, TN for New Year's. After many hours over stressing on ... availibilty, location, check-in age, and price, we ended up on Gaylord Opryland Hotel's site online. We were amazed at how good of a deal it was and how smooth and easy everything went for us. The hotel is gorgeous and in exquiste luxury. I recommend it to anyone!!! They have taxis that wait outside every hour to take you to downtown Nashville and plenty of parking at the hotel once we got back. Great stay. :))

What happened to southern hospitality?
Disillusioned Traveler Dec 27, 2009
Went for Country Christmas which was great! The craft show was a huge disappointment. Our grade school craft show beats it ... by far. The cost for the resort fee was a joke. The shuttle bus drivers just passed you by and left you standing in the cold instead of picking you up. Hotel staff was the most unfriendly I have ever encountered anywhere and we have traveled extensively. The eighteen dollars a day to park in their lot was ridiculous. For that someone should at least be available to show you where to go to check in. No personal service here. Never able to locate indoor pool or jacuzzi. Food very expensive. Would have been nice to have photographers available to take family portraits. Decor was lovely. How ridiculous to charge 9.00 to ride the boat around the hotel. So many ways the whole Christmas package could have been better. Glad we did it once but with the service we received probably won't stay again. Every time we asked staff members a direction question either didn't speak English or gave some bogus directions or said "don't know". The Rockettes show was amazing and facility beautiful. Wonderful mall with great shopping. ICE was overpriced and should include more warning for the young and elderly.

CC Dec 22, 2009
I had stayed at Opryland two years ago and was very disappointed in the rooms. I wanted to go back and take my grandchildren ... because of the lights and the activities at the hotel and was thrilled when I checked in and the rooms were great! The only negative was the check in. We were in line almost two hours waiting to just get to the entrance of the hotel. The hotel did give an extra two hours for check out. The hotel was very ill prepared to handle the crowd. I would not recommed staying at this hotel during the Christmas season.
Traveler type: Family
Room service was the best way to dine with small children. You only had a 30 minute wait or your meal was complimentary. Poor job on part of the hotel to handle their guest in a resonable amout of time in the hotel. The staff could not have been nicer handling alot of not happy people.

Stump Dec 4, 2009
My wife, sister, brother-in-law, mom, and mother-in-law made this visit mainly to see the Christmas decorations. We were not ... disappointed. The decorations were beautiful, and the foliage inside the atriums was perfect. My mom said, "I didn't know anything this beautiful existed on earth." A few minor annoyances - the room card did not work at the parking entrance and prices were not posted for breakfast entrees at the continental breakfast spot in Cascades. Rooms, halls, lobbies were spotless. Rooms were well-appointed. A bit pricey overall, but a great experience.

Basically everything you would ever want is located within your reach at the Gaylord Opryland. And as if that isn't enough for you, you are within in steps or a short shuttle of one of the largest 'outlet' malls that I've ever been to. Further, you it is also in the same vicinity of the Grand Old Opry and as well as their museum. Guitar fans? a wonderful Gibson store is located here where you can purchase the guitar of your choice for a fraction of its retail cost. There are also many great restaurants with different types of fare within Downtown Nashville, which is about a 15 minute drive.
