Unfortunately we were there during El Nina and it rained every day so we were not able to sightsee as much as we would like. ... The room got smaller every day that passed! Good restaurant next door.

The hotel was great, it had a great view of the water. The continental breakfast was delicious as well. It would have been ... nice if there was a jacuzzi but that's not a big deal :) We went to the elephant bar often which was right next door. Very convenient.

I needed a place to stay after the 49'er game at candle stick park. I location is a little farther than we expected but our ... overall experience was good. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by friendly staff members. When we were looking online the room looked much bigger and a little different than what it actually was, but on the good side of things the bed was very comfortable and we were supplied with the necessities. The room was nice and quiet with a good view of the water. It was a good experience. I would say "that's some good stuff."

there is not a lot around the hotel.Had dinner at the Hyatt down the street or at the Marriott. The rooms are clean but very ... basic. No air conditioning, so the room was hot at night. The view from the back of the hotel was great,right on the bay with a great view of the airport. It was very easy to get to the airport and to downtown San Francisco. If a basic hotel room is what you need this was okay. There are other restaurants, but they are a 5 to 10 minute drive away.

This hotel looks just like it does in the pictures, it was a really nice location, and right next door there are restaurants, ... the view of the bay was beautiful.The only thing i didn't like about the hotel was that you don't control your ac or heater, if you turn on the air it blows cold or hot air depending on the temperature outside of the hotel, which is ridiculous because it was cold outside but hot inside the rooms

I was here when I drove from Florida to find a place. Everything was great except I had to keep the windows open because it ... was entirely too hot in the room because the air didn't go on unless the temperature was above 68. Since I had to keep the windows open, it was very noisy and I could smell cigarette smoke when I had asked for a non-smoking room. I know that musy seem very negative, other than that it was perfect and an excellent value!

Location was excellent. Beautiful view of the bay with the added bonus of watching aircraft land and take off from our ... room. Easy access to freeway. Easy access to excellent dining within walking distance from hotel. Friendly staff. Good complimentary breakfast in morning. Clean room with outstanding housekeeping daily. Looking forward to next visit.

It's basically only geared towards travellers from the domestic part of USA, and not really intend to cater the international ... travellers. Our room was right outside the balcony and facing directly with strong wind which blew right through the poor insulated window., unfortunately the 1st night when we were there, the temp dropped around 3 degree C. Vagabond staff has asked me to pay extra, should I wish to move to the inside the building rooms...

My wife and I caught a show in the city and wanted a convenient and well priced hotel for the night. The Vagabond was exactly ... what we were looking for. Reasonably priced, super freindly staff,comfortable rooms, easy to find, and BEST of all, free cookies and breakfast. The small annoiance of the airport noise would not keep us from going back in the future. Over all, a nice place to stay when your budget is tight and your standards are high

I am a retired pilot for a major airline. I started staying at this hotel several years ago, as I traveled for appointments ... and surgeries at Stanford Hospital. It is the best two star hotel I have ever stayed in and the best value, period. On the counter in the lobby there is a sign that says,"If you are looking for a place to party; this is not it". As a two star do not expect the amenities of 3-5 star hotel, so don't expect breakfast in bed. However there is a very nice continental breakfast every morning. It is the basic hotel I like to stay in. There is wireless in the room, microwave and refrigerator. The TV has no Pay Per View style movies, hence no p__n and I say this as a positive. Also there is access to the Internet in a small business center that doubles up with the continental breakfast. I have never had loud, obnoxious neighbors. The rooms are basic and clean. The staff goes out of their way to help and it is close to SFO and 101. The hotel is located on the Bay with a path great for walking or running.

We stayed at the Vagabond because we had to catch a 6am flight the next morning. However, we didn't get much sleep because ... the air conditioner in the room didn't work well and the people in the room next to us were LOUD all night. And the walls were like paper so we could hear everything. I would not recommend this place.

It seems like there would be many dining options in Downtown San Francisco, but as a former resident I was never satisfied with the amount of options. My suggestion is Mel's Drive-In which is across the street from the Metreon. It is a super cute diner with great food and pretty good prices. Otherwise head to another part of the city for the better food and atmosphere. Downtown seems to only offer chain restaurants or food court.
