Our experience at Tropicana was not good at all!! There was a problem with the hot water knob in the shower. It would'nt ... turn off. It took awhile for maintence to arrive. We could not get any sleep while repairs were being made. Personally I think the hotel could've offered a free night. Our room felt like we were located in the basement. However the bellman was very helpful and very courteous. I will not be staying at this hotel in the future.

When checking in, we were upgraded to a suite so that my son and I could be in rooms close to each other. This was over and ... above anything that we expected. The hotel is mid-renovations so there was some expected construction. I think it will be very nice once it's completed. The hotel needs a lot of work on the restaurants offered. Again, they are mid-renovation and maybe that will come. The restaurants were very expensive!! $28 for a buffet!!

Tropicana Las Vegas
Dawg Tim Dec 20, 2009
The travel experience was phenomenal at the Tropicana Las Vegas. I travel at least once a month, and the experience at the ... Tropicana was the best experience I've had in Las Vegas. The check-in agent was extremely nice, upgraded me immediately to a beatiful suite with a perfect view of the Strip. I haven't been loyal on Las Vegas, but the next time I travel, I will definitely use the Tropicana!

Poor Hotel on the Main Strip
International Destination Manager Dec 16, 2009
this hotel is for people who do not care about class it's definitely okay for spring breakers going to las vegas and wants to ... be on the strip... it's similar to an old beach run-down hotel. mattress is coming apart etc. they have not done anything with their older tower... just uses it as a way to make you want to upgrade. Guess what the newer tower is OLD too... rooms come with a 19inch tv. I'm sorry, but motel tv's are larger. definitely a hotel you're gonna wish you read the reviews

Smells Like Smoke!
Jvet Dec 8, 2009
I was in Las Vegas for a convention, so I wasn't in the room very much. When I was in my room, it made me sick! The entire ... hallway and room smelled like smoke. I couldn't even get fresh air because the windows were bolted shut. The room was not clean: I found garbage from the last guests in the room. These rooms are clearly the oldest rooms on the Vegas Strip and in desperate need of renovation. I have stayed at other hotels in the same area for a comparable rate with much better experiences. I will not stay at the tropicana again.

Horrible!
Vegastrip Dec 6, 2009
I had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it was decent. We walked into the room and the floors were dirty, hadn't been ... vacuumed, the bed covers were dirty and old, just gross. The bathroom didn't have tissue. We get back to the room from a long night and it is freezing cold and the room has no heater! It was 30 degrees outside. It was the worst stay ever!

The hotel is pretty good in terms of lodging value. Its not as expensive as other hotels, while still having easy access to ... the strip. The rooms are very good and clean, and the casino down stairs, altho not as fancy as the big ones, it has the small bid table ($5 compared to a minimum of 10 or more in the big casinos)

Sleepy in Las Vegas Nov 23, 2009
Checked in at 2:00 am and woke up at 5:00 am to sound of hammer drills (we found out that the place is under renovation). The ... manager offered to give us the first night free or move us to another room. We chose to move to another room which turned out to be much larger. Everything was great for the next day and then the hammer drills stated like clockwork every morning at 6:30 am. No sleeping in allowed. Stay away until their finished renovating in 2012.

Tropicana
Vegas Frequent Nov 19, 2009
The Tropicana Hotel in Vegas is a great location, but the hotel is VERY dated. They are planning a much needed renovation in ... Spring 2010, which I'm sure will cause the price to go up. $112 was an average price to pay for a Sat night in Vegas, for average accomidations. The mirrors above the bed gave a great sense of 1980...so if you like that kinda thing! lol
