A short stay
Dave from AZ Nov 17, 2009
A nice hotel, rooms are very small. I traveled with my adult daughter, and two queens in a room makes it very crowded. The ... employees are great. I can only drink decaf coffee so each morning one of the restaurant staff would be sure to have a pot in the lobby for me. The maid service in the room was very good, the bathroom was very clean. The elevators and common areas could use a little more cleaning. They have free internet service in the lobby which was helpful. I would probably stay there again.

Good location as the hotel is mid way between theatre district and West Village/Soho. Room had a great view from 21st floor ... but the heat/ac unit was noisy and antiquated. Bed was very comfortable, linens high quality. Bathroom small but clean with good shower head, plenty of hot water. We were constantly on the go so we did not eat at the hotel. The fitness room was small with cheap equipment but functional (though no towels). The hotel has a very good deal ($25/nite) with a garage on W. 26th St.

A real "goody"
Montreat Mama Oct 16, 2009
We spent a lot of time in the Times Square area and enjoyed walking to it from the hotel...an easy and interesting walk, even ... for an elderly couple like we are. Also close to lots of restaurants and an ice cream shop when we had a yen for some. A really friendly staff was always helpful and the rooms, though small are immaculate. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

For a Broadway show get a taxi plenty early..as much as an hour to be sure you get there before curtain time. After the show when you can't get a cab, walk a few blocks and take a bicycle cab, you'll get it for a lot less than taking one from in front of the theater. Bargain for a reasonable price. Be prepared for an exciting ride, to say the least.

Very small rooms but clean with new linens, matresses, and duvet covers. If you're not going to spend much time in your ... rooms (which you shouldn't in NYC) or if you don't require a lot of space then this hotel is great. We had 2 double beds because they said they were booked but we pushed them together and it was great. (No I didn't fall through the cracks) Go eat at Johnnies Luncheonette down the street from the hotel (about 8 business from the hotel. Great food great prices for NYC.

Good location and not too close to the busy, crazy tourist stuff. Hotel is on 25th between 6th and 7th avenues. Nearest subway lines are on 23rd and 6th or 23rd and 7th. Even though you are not IN Times Square the hotel is LITERALLY 15 minutes from all the action. You can take the subway to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, WTC, NBC Studios, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, Central Park, Museums, Times Square, etc. I'm from Detroit area with no mass transit but the subways are so easy to follow. I carried a map everywhere and never was lost.

We went for the typical see NYC trip for a few days via Amtrak. Great location near subway stations. Near 7th Avenue - always ... felt safe. Rooms were impressive with VERY comfortable bedding and CLEAN bathroom. Much more than expected for the price. Loved the little Italian restaurant around the corner. Easy travel by subway uptown & downtown. Just a short walk to the train station & Macys!

Not impressed, pick the Sheraton on 53rd
Kevin Jun 21, 2009
Well the new decor fell off the wall but missed me while laying in my bed. The glass globe shattered and the mercury bulb ... broke on the bed. The hotel was unable to give my wife and I another room since multiple floors were under construction. Since I pre-paid, they were unable to give me a discount but offered a complimentary breakfast at 3:30am. (We over slept!) The resturant is very pricey and the drinks will break you (Margarita's cost $16 each). I wish I chose the Sheraton on 53rd/7th like I initially wanted but opted to try the Chelsea neighborhood. (Quaint but closes early for NYC) Ice machines are on the even floors but the 6th that we stayed on was broke, the 8th floor gave water but no ice and the 4th floor worked just fine.

The CHEATING of so call FREE BREAKFAST
UNhappy deal from Orbitz and Four Point Jun 8, 2009
The Orbitz Promotion 20% SALES, Free Breakfast, In room movies and 4pm check out. It show all over the Web adv., but it ... didn't showed in final check out paper. so i showed them the Web Ads. It don't do any good. From day one, it started with an argument on what we have been cheating. It is a principle even the breatfast don't taste that great. I felt like we are overpaid of the hotel in that neighbour. My family got a better deal in uptown 57th street for more high class shoping and close to central park. The whole thing the hotel people know what they doing to cheat the customer. You go there for fun not for fight. You will final give in but angry inside yourself and ask is that what the NEW YORK people to cheat the tourist. Why they just take those promotions OUT. and you have a peace of mind. so think twice before you book this FOUR POINT SHERATON BY MAHATTAN CHELSEA. Thanks for you guys to listen and The Tourists come together and protect ourselves. Thanks for read this review and listen.

nyu mom May 29, 2009
This hotel provides good service, clean rooms, friendly staff, and good proximity to subway. The rooms are on the small side ... but by NYC standards, they were great. The hotel has been recently redecorated in an "urban chic" theme with new linens, beds, and flat screen TVs, so reviews older than spring,2009, are out of date. Most importantly, this hotel provides very nice accommodations at an extremely reasonable price for NYC. If you want to be in the Chelsea area, this is an excellent choice.

In New York for my son's graduation!
Len May 15, 2009
Coming to New York to celebrate my son's graduation from NYU, I didn't need any hassle or distraction with a hotel. I was ... quite pleased with the Four Points. They met all my needs and allowed us to enjoy our trip! Not knowing what "industrial chic" is, the room we had with a king size bed, a desk, and chair, was perfectly fine! The bathroom was clean and well maintained by the staff. Wanting a clean, comfortable, convenient, and reasonably priced place to end our active day was the the goal. Our stay at Four Points was just that! I would stay there again, rates allowing, anytime!

Great central location to all of NY
Waking Up to New York City May 13, 2009
I wanted to make a stop in New York and to experience all that this spectacular city has to offer. The hotel is located close ... to the subway system and with the Metrocard, it was very easy to get around the city and the outer burroughs. The room that I was staying in was a little worn like it had been banged around a bit and there were some questionable stains on the furniture that I would've liked to not have seen. However, true to the Four Points Sheraton motto, they do have the most comfortable bed for the best restful sleep you will experience. The only thing I thought was missing was to have something special like a turned bed or a special chocolate treat for visitors that were staying there for more than a day.

Check out Murray's Bagel close to West 23rd Street and 8th Avenue. They don't toast their bagels and I can see why. The bagels are just wonderful and fresh on their own. If you are a bagel and lox fan, they have a wide selection of different types of lox to choose from. Be lucky to get a small table to sit at or stand at a counter to eat. It's nothing bad. It's New York!
