Weekend in luxury!

samfrancisco33 Nov 2, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

I am so glad that my friend and I splurged on the luxurious Fairmont. It was beautiful and comfortable, and the service was ... first class. We were booked at another downtown hotel for the weekend, and checked out after one night after being horribly disappointed with a TINY room, terrible customer service AND loss of our reservation for the next 2 nights. We are so glad we switched to the Fairmont. From the second the smiling and friendly doorman opened the front doors for us, we felt like royalty. Very professional and friendly service across the board. And the room was beautiful and very quiet, despite being in the middle of everything. My friend and I felt like princesses!

One of the nicest in downtown. Views are bad. We looked at an office bldg from the 11th floor. Concierge was fabuous...all ... of them!!! Bath is small. Decor is a bit too victorian for my taste. We had an exec suite which I recommend for a few extra $$.

Fairmont Olympic Seattle

Baseball Fan Aug 12, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

I've stayed at nice hotels, like the Campton Place and Palace in San Francisco, Hotel Metro and Hilton in New York, Park Lane ... in London, etc., but the Fairmont Olympic was easily their equal. It was comfortable, relaxing, convenient to my important venues, shopping, restaurants and Safeco Field. A block from the University Street Station of Seattle's developing mass transit, and across the street from Benihana's. The Fairmont Olympic business center was professional and their support was perfect. The staff was very friendly and they were serious about being a "green" hotel: the nightly valet parking was free because I had rented a hybrid car! All in all, this was a perfect hotel for me and as a result I plan to stay at the Fairmont in San Francisco on my next trip there.

Recreation/Attractions tip, Short Walk

The Fairmont Olympic was about a 25-minute walk from Safeco Field, which is perfect for active guests who want to enjoy the cool climate (usually!) of Seattle and want to watch a young and energetic Mariners club. Also, from the heart of the business district to the ballpark one can walk through historic Pioneer Square area and see lots of interesting shops and restaurants and historic buildings.

Entertainment tip, Short Drive

We enjoyed a wonderful live theater production at the Intiman Theater. Check with the concierge for details and reservations. In our case, the complimentary car and driver was available both to drop us off and pick us up.

Dining tip, Short Walk

Make life easy and eat dinner at Shuckers - you are in for a treat. Bartender is knowledgeable, friendly and interesting. Great service and food.

Time savers tip, Short Walk

If going toward the water, leave the hotel and travel pararell to Pike, them turn toward water. Reverse coming back....not as many steep hills. Purple, just across the street, is good. Lowells at Pikes is good for breakfast.

--cf, Orlando, FL Aug 30, 2009

Shopping tip, Short Walk

You are within walking distance of the best in downtown Seattle.

--Frequent guest, Vancouver WA Aug 24, 2009

Entertainment tip, Short Walk

The location of the hotel is ideal and there are lots of stores, restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

--Dave, Poulsbo, WA Aug 21, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Resturant is a little pricey..like youd expect. Plenty of Cafe's and resurants nearby. The public market is about 5 blocks away.

--BlackStripe, Bealeton, VA Aug 20, 2009

Shopping tip, Short Walk

The Pike Market offers so many great varieties, such an experience to walk around and see everything there.

Money savers tip, Short Drive

MOTEL 6 CHEAPER, BETTER SERVICE, AND EVERYONE IS TREATED THE SAME

--L A SPICER, RICHLAND WA Aug 16, 2009

Recreation/Attractions tip, Short Walk

The Fairmont Olympic was about a 25-minute walk from Safeco Field, which is perfect for active guests who want to enjoy the cool climate (usually!) of Seattle and want to watch a young and energetic Mariners club. Also, from the heart of the business district to the ballpark one can walk through historic Pioneer Square area and see lots of interesting shops and restaurants and historic buildings.

--Baseball Fan, Vienna, VA Aug 12, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Dahlia Lounge (another stellar dining location from Tom Douglas)at 2001 4th Avenue. Plus, the rousing new musical, "Catch Me If You Can" through Aug. 16 at The 5th Avenue Theatre, just a block from the hotel.

--Lorraine, San Diego, CA Aug 11, 2009

Entertainment tip, Short Walk

Can can theater was a blast and reasonably priced.

--RCB, Portland, OR Aug 8, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Great food within 3-4 blocks--Wild Ginger (Asian), Tulio's (Italian), Metropolitan Grill (great steaks)--all an easy walk. Great shopping is an easy 5 minute walk. Our only regret is that the hotels less formal restaurant the Garden Court was closed .

--Experienced traveler, Dallas, TX Aug 8, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Wild Ginger, a short walk from the Fairmont Olympic, has excellent small dishes of Asian fusion cuisine, meant to be shared, a great bar, lots of fun. The duck breast dish is excellent. Down in Pike Place Market, Lowells has water views and one of the best breakfasts we have ever had - salmon omelets, freshly made corn beef hash, light cinnamon rolls -- the perfect start to a Seattle sightseeing tour.

--Mactraveller, Washington, DC Aug 3, 2009

Dining tip, In Hotel

TRY THE HAPPY HOUR FROM 3:00PM - 5:00PM AT SHUCKERS.

--RETIRED, SAN FRANCISCO, CA Jul 31, 2009

Nightlife tip, Short Walk

Triple door nightclub, first night salsa night with live band, second night Hawaiian entertainers direct from the aloha state. Great fun !!!

--Gourmet, Leavenworth, Wa. Jul 23, 2009

Entertainment tip, Short Walk

Take in a show and dinner at the "Can-Can" in pike market. THe most interesting and great random entertainment we've had in some time.

--steve+jackie, Edmonton, AB Canada Jul 16, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

Rock Bottom Brewery is less than 100 yards from the hotel entrance and has some delicious treats. Try the brewery sampler and split an appatizer and entree...you'll be very delighted!

--Rhino, Cartersville, GA Jul 15, 2009

Shopping tip, Short Walk

Find the elevator coming up to the Pike Street market. It cuts out most of the walking uphill!
