Check-in was tedious. Waited in line 20 minutes for an available clerk. We had requested connecting rooms for the four of ... us. We were advised that there were no connecting rooms available. However, after much discussion, suddenly the connecting rooms were available. Upon entering the rooms we noticed there were no coffee pots. I have stayed at this hotel several times and on past visits there has always been a coffee pot in the room. Imagine our angst when we called the front desk and were told by both the clerk and Manager that coffee pots were only available for up-graded rooms. Since we are all avid coffee drinkers, this was a real bummer.

Great value
Weiserheiser Jan 31, 2010
Great Value, super clean, The staff is some of the nicest you will find in the Harrah's chain of casino and hotels. I ... spent the extra money for the deluxe room. The one with the flat screen TV's... Worth the money if you have down time and the shower was great... The basic rooms were just as nice and clean. If you want some place clean to sleep they are just fine. Now the only complains I had were. No disposable cups in hotel room. Vegas tap water is pretty good. I know its better for the environment but I like the disposable cups. You never know just how the last ones were cleaned... Second I was on the Carnival Club side of the Hotel. Fun bar, but you need to catch a plane at 6am and the club goes until 2:30am its hard to catch some Z's. Friends that stayed on the North Side of the Hotel could not hear the club at all. To sum it up. I will stay again, Decent food choices in the hotel. Next time I will just save a water bottle and ask to be on the side of the hotel that does not face the outside bar.

Customer service is not everyone's forte
Lone Runner Jan 30, 2010
I arrived late due to delay's in flights, and when I went to check in, found out that they had given away my room. I was ... told that after 2am (yes, I had been in airports for nearly 14 hours that day), if you don't call ahead to notify that you will be late, they give your room away. Low and behold, My entire family had notified the front desk, or a particular person they worked with during check-in, that I would be late. This was not communicated to the next crew of Customer Reps that came in; thus, I was moved to another room far from my family. It isn't like we were trying to be near eachother or anything (NOT!!). I was there for my sisters Wedding, which correct me if I am wrong, should have been a priority for the hotel. It wasn't. Nothing special about the gym or spa, hotel or casino, or the food at their restaurants. It was just same old run of the mill, where they meet customer expectation, just barely, but they make no effort to go above and beyond. We went to breakfast (the wedding party and parents), and the server acted like we were a pain and kept rolling her eyes when we would ask for anything. If you as a server cannot handle people celebrating and not always paying the closest attention (I mean its freakin vegas!!), then maybe you should not be working in vegas. All in all, this was probably my worst experience in vegas. I have stayed at Luxor and excalibur, and both of those stays were MUCH cheaper, and much better!

If you want to get your nails done, do NOT go to a hotel spa. There is a great place just a mile up the strip from Ceasars and Harrah's palace. It is called las vegas nail and hair salon, or something like that, and they treated us like queens. We came with like 12 people for a wedding party, and a four year old, brought mimosas and just hung out all afternoon, and they were awesome and patient. It was great!

The location is amazing. You have access to all the cheap eats (chain restaurants) and some of the best fancy eats (Batali, ... Flay, Bellagio) But The floors were so dirty and the carpet so dingy that I would not get on the floor to do push ups. Gross. Very comfortable beds and very quiet rooms.

It was centrally located and the gaming tables had low minimums. Food was good. We had a suite and it was very nice, but it ... was the first one by the elevator and we could hear it go up and down all night long and when people hit the button to call for the elevator it sounded like there was knocking at our door. The ceiling to floor picture window allowed for a stunning view of the strip at night and breathtaking view of the mountains in daylight.

But finally end up staying in a smoking room(the moment I entered into the room I saw ash trays, matches & smell too) called the front desk the guy told me the entire floor is non smoking, they might have left that ash trays accidentally but its a big lie, later I saw a board on a wall which says the wing next to ours is a non smoking wing. Business in Vegas? Jan 25, 2010
We went to a convention and chose Harrahs becasue of it's location and price. Upon a late Arrival we stood in line to check ... in only to be told that there were no non-sokiing rooms available. I told them that I had called a few days before to confirm the room andd told them of our late arrival. They put us in a non-smoking suite for the night which was nice, but then we had to move to regular rooms the next day. The staff was wonderful and courteous and the hotel was nice and clean and not as smoky smelling as I expected from the casino. Toby Keiths restaurant and bar was great! (Try the fried mac and cheese) The Range steakhouse also had great food but was on the pricy side. There was a lot to do in and around the hotel so boredom will definitely not be a problem. Of course it is Vegas after all!! We were very pleased.

Attended a convention at the Sands center across the street. I took an average room because I knew I would spend little time ... there, however if the hotel would give the businessman free wi-fi the hotel would be more attractive because the price per day is too high. The cleaning crew did not do a good job of replacing articles I had used but the room was clean and fresh.

First night in we were up till 3:30am and waken up by a hiltie drill at 7:00am around our room on the 9th floor. Complained ... then moved to the 15th floor. Same thing up till 3:00am in the morning then waken at 8:00am by then replacing carpet abouve us on the other floor of the hotel. Then moved again to another floor for the last night. We spent about a half a day just packing and moving floors to get away from the noice of construction going on around us. Waste of time and sleep. I am really disappointed in the treatment we recieved during our vacation time. This was our first holiday in three years so this was very heartbreaking to us to spend time tired and stressed out over the hotel. Why would the front desk employees not have this information or close those rooms for guests?

Convenient hotel to convention center
20 Consumer Electronic Shows in a Row Jan 11, 2010
Harrah's is a great location for anyone attending a show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It's one of the few Monorail ... stops, and the very next stop is the Convention Center. The rooms are pedestrian, and the attractions are old-school--there's absolutely nothing fun to do there. However, request the Mardi Gras tower, and you'll get a small but (relatively) renovated room. And, unlike party hotspots like the Hard Rock Hotel and other popular destinations, it's pretty quiet. You can also get to your room quickly from the hotel entrance, unlike labyrinthine behemoths such as the Mirage. Room cleanliness is only okay (I don't think they ever clean the drinking glasses.) And don't plan on working there. Just try to find an open AC outlet. The desk chair is from the year 1955, and the room lighting is abysmal. And they chain the iron to the ironing board, so bring your own iron if you want to iron quickly and well. All in all, it's still a great choice if you only use your hotel room for sleeping, showering, and changing clothes, as I do.
