It was ok for the money and location. The room we got was very bad smelling so we had to move to another one which was pretty ... good. Overall it's not a bad hotel- just steps away from subway and across the river from Manhattan. If you don't care about view- save money. Similar hotel in Manhattan will cost a lot more.

It's worth your money
Anh Dec 29, 2008
The Hotel is quite good. It's worth my money and it was convenient to go to Manhattan and Downtown New York. It was also near ... the subway station so it just took a few mins walking. It was clean and tidy but a little bit dark even when I turned on all the lights in the room. Besides, the hotel's rooms was unexpectedly small and it didn't provide food service except for a small microwave for reheating guests' own food. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel is the night guard. He was unfriendly and often stared at me whenever I went down-stair and used the microwave ( I don't know why) . But generally speaking, it met my demand about a good hotel with reasonable price.

Cab fare from the hotel to LaGuardia Airport was about $20. When I returned to the airport, I used my Metro pass and took the N/W subway to the Astoria Blvd Station and took the M60 bus to the airport.

Economy is the word.....
Sara Oct 20, 2008
The hotel is in an odd location. It is next to a repository for plastic cartons and the like. There are a number of ... boarded up buildings surrounding it. Long Island City is an up and coming area but it's not there yet. The nice thing was that it was next to the taxi hub and it was easy to get a ride when needed. The bathroom was new and looked great but the water pressure was still old and sort of drizzled. The area was safe. I never felt in danger of any kind and it's 10 minutes from Manhattan.

Great location for subway
Brian Aug 25, 2008
The Comfort Inn in Long Island City was a nice hotel in a off-beat location. The location was great for using the subway to ... Manhatten, Shea Stadium and Flushing Meadows Tennis Center. It was relatively inexpensive for New York, but as I said Off the beaten path. The continental breakfast was good, but there wasn't enough seating for all the guests.

Good value
Raymond Aug 6, 2008
My room at the Comfort Inn Long Island City was clean and comfortable. While the surrounding neighborhood looks a bit seedy, ... I didn't have any problems even returning from Manhatten late at night. The hotel is about a block and half walk from the Queensboro Plaza subway station. Once your on the subway, it only takes a few minutes to get to Midtown Manhatten. I would stay at this hotel again.

But note that the hotel is in an industrial part of town. You will spend most of your time in Manhattan, only returning to ... the hotel to sleep.
