Disappointed in Miami
Mom & sons Feb 2, 2010
We arrived at the hotel to see a lady of the evening being picked up. When we got off the elevator to our room, there was a ... man passed out in the hallway. These experiences were all very unsettling. Our room was suppose to have 2 double beds, but to our dismay only one bed & a pull out sofa. The room was very dingy and musty. The pool area and beach were very nice. The staff was not very friendly or accomadating. Over all we were all VERY DISAPPOINTED [...].

Robert Jan 23, 2010
Albeit it was an unusual cold January no heating was provided! And this in the 21 century. All our other Florida holidays had ... heating. Hotel is not at all up to standard. Need to complain and threaten to call the police because joungsters made pool at 1 a.m. to be their noisy playground. Hotel management didn't realy care and acted reluctant. Generel impression was not worth the money. Location though is good, pool and beach also.

Not What I Imagined
Kansas Cruiser Jan 21, 2010
We stayed at this hotel on the night before our cruise. I had called the hotel to advise them that we would be arriving ... after midnight and to assure that our room would still be available. Upon arriving we were informed that the only room available had a broken key card system and that security would have to let us in. We were tired and thought we could manage having security let us in for one night. Upon entering the room, it smelled very strongly of puke, but we suffered through this for the rest of the night. The room we were given was not at all what was described when I booked it on [...]. We were supposed to have a King bed, Murphy bed and sofa area, but were given a queen bed, and sofa sleeper instead. The room was much smaller than what I saw in pictures. The sofa sleeper had a horrible mattress and with it extended, there was barely enough room to move around. The bathroom was ok.We had the breakfast buffet the next morning at the restaurant downstairs which was ok, but pricey. When we went to pay our bill we were shocked to discover that an 18% gratuity had been automatically added into the bill. I thought this was a bit steep considering it was a serve yourself buffet. The pool area and beach access were the best features of this hotel. Hanging out on the beach was the best part of our stay.

The sunny beach and the blue are wonderful. It is a pity that we could not swim because of the cold weather. We also missed ... the sunrise on the sea. Everyday we spent a lot taking bus to siteseeing spots near downtown. It would be better if we stayed nearer to the South Beach.

we were "upgraded" to a room with a king-sized bed, and found it to be a standard room partitioned off to fit into a ... king-sized bed on one side, and a murphy bed on the other. major claustrophobia! upon pulling down the murphy bed, we found a nasty patch of stains in teh middle of the bed, and my friends and i decided to sleep all on the king's bed for the night. it was during the time of the rose bowl, so there were loud college kids making a racket next door or in the hallway. redeeming quality is that the receptionist was indeed sweet and obliging, and the guest services people, likewise. location of the hotel is pretty much about 30 minutes away from anything worth visiting.

Noisy... specially during an Orange Bowl time...people were very noisy at 2:00AM (Iowa fans) Room aren't very clean, ... specially the old carpet. The restaurant staff isn't nice specially the Hispano's one. The location is good. The pool and the beach are perfect. The room are big enough. You can feel that they are doing some renovations, new TV, etc. For the price, I won't recommand that hotel.

Great private beach
isinha Dec 25, 2009
The location is great and the private beach offers guests a quiet and cozy rest. I didn't enjoy paying the parking lot fee, ... as I had already paid for the resort fee. That adds a lot the room final price. Rooms are spacious but a bit outdated. Renovations were made in the bathroom only. Didn't find the carpet very clean, but I think it is just everywhere.

Michigander Dec 22, 2009
Upon checking in we had to wait at least 30 minutes because there was only one person behind the desk. We were not offered ... any comps for this time wasted. Our room was dirty and very outdated. The carpet was old and worn, the shower was disgusting with mold on the ceiling. The elevators smelled and were dirty. The Hotel Bar was closed on a Friday night for a private party. Everything was overpriced-food, drinks, etc. No on the property parking unless you used valet. Had to walk across busy road to get to our vehicle. Menu for room service was very poor-not much of a selection. $25.00 for two small pizzas?? Housekeeping sometimes did not show up until late afternoon. Nothing much positive to write.....this hotel needs some serious updating!!!! Would never stay here again!!

SuzyQ Dec 22, 2009
Upon entering my room I immediately was met by the smell of cigarettes, a very dirty rug, exposed electric sockets and mold ... around the bathroom and each vent. I asked for a different room and was refused a change - they said I had already been upgraded! When I was forced to checkout 2 days early because of these problems, the deskclerk I originally spoke with denied I'd ever asked for a change. I felt compelled to report these conditions to county authorities [...]

The employee that check us in was totally unfriendly. I asked him if there were any other rooms and he said no. The bathroom ... floor was dirty with mold in the shower. Boysenberry Dec 18, 2009
This was supposed to be a romatic getaway. The location was inconvienient to anything but one decent restaurant. The closet ... and bathroom had mold in them. The bed linens were dirty and the bed was as hard as a board. So we went outside to have some fun in the sun! The beach was very narrow at that area and had about 2-3 hours of sun due to the tall buildings around. The pool had absolutely NO sun all day. When we tried to get directions to a restaurant from the staff - the guy refused to write down the directions! The final insult was the elevators were out of service for a day and had to use the service elevator and they were doing construction in the fitness center (closed) and on each floor - BEGINNING AT 7:45 AM! Don't waste you money or time.

Elizabeth Dec 15, 2009
The hotel is nonsmoking but one room in our suite reeked of old smoke. We had all the linens changed and this helped ... somewhat. The beach was wonderful, the breakfast buffet was a bit expensive for the food choices offered. There was always a line to get service at the front desk. The elevators were very shabby. The pool and kids' activity staff were really helpful and fun.
