It is a nice hotel with lots of good restaurants, even fast food for breakfast. We were up and out by 6 am to go to the ... Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Zion NP another day by Harleys that we rented. Monte Carlo is a nice location, clean, new and comfortable.

I have stayed at various Las Vegas hotels over the years but this was way below my expectations for a 4 star resort(&$#!) I ... have stayed in 3 stars hotels in Vegas that have way better rooms than the one we got here. From a clogged sink, to jaded linens, to a hair dryer that caught my hair while drying, to a $10 resort fee!!!! (We never saw the bottle of waters that were promised as part of paying this fee, not that I care). I kept wishing I booked Luxor which had the same price at the time I booked MC.

The good and bad
Vegas Lover Nov 29, 2009
Upon checking into the Monte Carlo, we were very disappointed. The window of the "strip view" was so dirty that we could ... hardly see out and we were unable to take any pictures. There was food on the wall, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, etc. After talking to the desk supervisor, our room was upgraded to a suite on a different floor. This room was very nice, maintained well, and clean. I was still a bit disappointed with the view of the casino roof (they never tell customers about details like that, and if one isn't familiar with Vegas hotels, he doesn't know until reservations have already been made. I appreciate the supervisor's attempt to make us happy; however the suite only had a king size bed. With three people in the room, I had to sleep on a roll away bed which was not very comfortable. The casino was pleasant and offered a variety of gaming options. The cafe was a great place to eat: good food and reasonable prices.

Good hotel. Dated bedding, no microwave.
Prash Nov 29, 2009
The lobby is exquisite and the location superb. But those probably are the only great things about it. Everything else was ... just ordinary. No microwave/mini fridge in the rooms. In room dining options expensive for what they taste (we ordered the General's Chicken and veg fried rice - both had stale dried rice, and the first dish had hardened chicken, as if it were cooked and stored a long time ago). Not to mention the $ 9.95 per night *resort* fee. And what does that include? - access to the gymnasium ( note the word access) - access to spa - two tiny water bottles per day (our room had two MC brand bottles both identical except the cap size/shape. Reminded me of how used bottled were refilled in Slumdog Millionaire) The walls are paper thin. We were on 22nd floor in a corner (one less neighbor) . Yet we could hear every single move of the people across, every curse word, every stumble, every tap activity, every door open/close). Only two things would make me believe it was an above average hotel: - excellent water pressure - excellent location In all other ways, this is an average hotel. In short, this is just an average hotel that has 4 diamond AAA ratings fore some reason.

Nice Hotel
Oskie Nov 26, 2009
The Monte Carlo was a nice choice for our couple vacation. It had a great location with most other hotels in walking ... distance, but was not too busy. As far as I could tell we had no loud neighbors and the front of the hotel and casino were never too busy. We didn't have the best luck in casino, but other hotels were very close. Thge room was nice, big and quiet. They put us on the top floor, below the suites so there was not alot of traffic noise. Staff was nice and accomidating. The pool closed early, but was nice and relaxing. Overall a nice choice.

Weekend in Vegas
Sophia Nov 23, 2009
We were there for a joint bachelor/ette party with 5 other couples and a few single friends. We really enjoyed the updated ... rooms, the staff was great at check-in helping to get our group's rooms on the same floor and in the same location and gave us a late checkout on Sunday night. We ate at 2 of the restaurants and enjoyed them both. We also spent time in the spa, absolutely amazing massages! Everything we needed all in one hotel and so close to all the other places we visited in town that weekend.

Low key, good value
Julie Nov 23, 2009
The Monte Carlo is in a great location on the Strip, near the MGM and New York New York. It's smaller than the megahotels ... and a little more low key. Nevertheless, it has a decent casino, several restaurants, the required buffet, and a food court. It's starting to feel a little dated, but it's nice enough. I paid $10/day for a resort fee, but there was no information available about what the "resort" included. The room didn't have a guide to hotel amenities, so I didn't know until checkout that there was a gym, pool, and other "resort" services.

Find a coupon for buy-one-get-one-half-off at the Liberace Museum to see this famed Las Vegas entertainer's collection of fancy automobiles (including one covered with mirrored tiles, one with rhinestones, and one with glitter) and extravagant outfits. There's a free shuttle to the museum from several Strip locations. I wouldn't pay full price ($15) for the ticket, but for half price, it was a fun excursion. Proceeds go to scholarships for students of the arts.

Okay room
Mel Nov 23, 2009
I was expecting a nicer room, since it was titled "deluxe". When I first got in the room I went to put my baby down on the ... bed and saw that there was a PUBIC hair on the comforter. It made me question whether the comforter had been cleaned after the last occupants, so I took it off the bed and left it on the floor. When housekeeping came to clean up the next morning, they simply bagged up the comforter and didn't replace it on the bed. I was disappointed that there was no mini-fridge or coffee maker in the room. I had an issue with the intranet not working, which was the only means of looking up any of the services offered. They said they would send someone from engineering to fix the issue and after waiting for an hour and a half we asked them to come the next day so that we could get some dinner. They came the next day while we were out, which we authorized, and left a note saying the problem was fixed, but alas, when we turned on the TV and tried to access the menu it was still not fixed. One other thing that was annoying was that our room was above all the ventilation for the casino so our room smelled of food all the time.

Horrible! Nov 21, 2009
This list is too long to include everything but the highlights.........My room wasn't ready when I got there. It wasn't ready ... for 3 hours. There are additional fees that you have to agree to pay when you check in. I was told the $25 meal credit would be deducted from my hotel cost upon checkout if I didn't use it at the hotel. That's not the case. The decor is outdated. The TV is old. The best thing about the hotel is that it's clean. other than that not much going on for it. The location is horrible.
