the smell of paint in the lobby was horrible. (very smelly paint). the window in our room (on the first floor) was fine when ... we checked in but we went to visit family for a couple of hours and when we returned the room was freezing cold because someone had foced the window open and it was broken. we were given another room on the second floor. water pressure was bad barely enough to shower!!! maintance needs to go through and check the bathroom fixtures they need help. (faucets don't turn off all the way, toilet handle sideways not easy to flush) beds very uncomfortable hard and not made daily

I made reservations as motel was close to where my son and his wife lived for Christmas. It was located great and the price ... was truley affordable. It was noiser than I like with the showers or water pipes...the beds were ok..seemed like they should be replaced soon..my husband said he was getting bit all night and did have visible bites on his body although I was not bothered. The staff was very friendly , helpful and professional. I would stay here again if needed..If all you want is a bed to sleep in -it is defianately worth it. It looked as though we were close to many things if needed..shopping, eating, there was a bar within walking distance although we used none of these.

We were in town for a reception. The clerk at the front desk was very kind and patient [...] The room was very clean, ... comfortable beds, quiet, pets allowed, cheap rate, good selection of food! We have stayed at this hotel before and would definitely stay there again. thanks!

The first night there were cookies and hot dogs but not after that. Breakfast was okay but was just cereal, biscuits and ... gravy (cold) and toast. Did not have my reservation when I arrived. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

This hotel provided a great location. It was easy to find, close to shopping, restaurants, and casinos. It was a very short ... drive to Omaha. The staff was the best. The breakfast was very good. Wireless internet service was available and fast. Furnishings were older but comfortable and very clean. Breakfast area was a bit small. Indoor pool area better than expected. Very satisfied with this hotel.

Not Much Value for Rate

The Western Inn in Council Bluffs was an ok place to sleep for the night, as we did while attending a wedding in the area. ... You had to drive to everywhere in very congested local traffic. I will say that the heat index for the day did not make patience a virture. The only entrance was through the lobby. There could have been an entrance/exit at each end passable with guest key. The room clean except it smelled very heavy of cigarette smoke. I am a smoker, but had to ask for air freshner to get the smell out of the air. It was ridiculously strong. Screen on windows while vacant would have added tremendously to this problem. The carpet was a bit dity. I often wear sport socks around in my hotel, as I do not loke to go barefoot. The bottom of my socks that were white, ended up being dull grey just from the room. The rate was certainly way over priced. No, I would not stay here again.

Located in very congested area of Council Bluffs. Allow enough time to reach next destination. Use I-80 and I-29 as much as possible rather than Council Bluff streets. Hotels in neighboring Omaha are much nicer and can be found at a cheaper rate. Consider that option.
