Be sure to check out the 3-or-so-mile stretch of Wisconsin Ave between downtown and Friendship Heights (aka Embassy Row). The shops and cafes are really cool and. Everyone always heads for the Capitol and White House. You gotta see this part of DC, too!

A fantastic place to stay in DC
Vlad the Bad Sep 15, 2009
First of all it, was super-cheap for the dates that we had. Like, $89. Secondly, it's right there by the airport (Yay free, ... quick, timely shuttle!) and really close to DC Metro. The rooms and common areas were super-clean, free hot breakfast, friendly service, all you could possibly want. The hotel looked brand-new (I don't know if it actually is).

good value for price
Travellin' Max Jul 27, 2009
this is a good hotel that provides a comfortable and convenient environment for a great price in a city where hotels are ... almost always overpriced. It's a convenient location, because via the Metro (a 5-minute walk from the hotel), one can access almost all of the DC area. The very good complementary breakfast was a plus. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel appeared to be well maintained, although at the moment it appeared the central AC was broken (on a 90+degree day), but portable units were hooked up in the common areas, and the room AC worked fine.
Traveler type: Business
use the DC Metro system (5 minute walk) as your gateway to the DC area, particularly the main tourist sites. If you're hopping around the city, get a day pass.

Seeing the sights!
Biking Duo Jul 7, 2009
We checked in early at 9am and went right to our room. The hotel is located withing a few blocks of the Mt. Vernon Bike ... Trail. Only 3 miles into DC and 15 miles to Mt. Vernon. Beautiful for biking or walking. Hotel was very quiet and pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful and ready early! The king bed room was small but had alot to offer with the kitchenette, desk, and sleep sofa. We would come back with our kids.
