Good for the money
Abby's mom Aug 18, 2009
We came to Pawley's Island to check out the area to consider moving there. The hotel room had a king size bed, sofa, fridge, ... microwave, good lighting and good shower. I would have preferred a pillow-top mattress since the bed was a bit firm. The pool looked good, but I didn't use it. Every morning they have a breakfast buffet with eggs, sausage, bread, bagels, cereal, cinnamon rolls, etc. Everything is fresh and hot. It's difficult making a left out of the hotel onto the road, and the hotel comes up fast when you're driving. The hotel sign is set too far off the road and is easily missed. We enjoyed the beaches, the restaurants, Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington State Park. I would stay at the Holiday Inn Express again.

My husband and I went to Myrtle Beach recently, and really not knowing the area, I just read the description on the site and ... was not disappointed. The beach was about 3 miles or so away, but this was perfect for us. The staff was so polite, helpful, and cheerful, it was very nice stay.

Ann Oct 30, 2008
I really enjoyed the employees at this hotel. They were cheerful, kind, and polite. Every question I had, they answered as ... if they were giving information to their own mom. The morning breakfast bar was the usual but good and had hot options. We stayed two nights and the service remained constant.

Pawley's Island is 8 minutes away. Myrtle Beach is about 20 minutes away. There is a great place to eat called the Hot Fish Club at Muriel Beach.

Friendly staff- let us check in an hour early
Susan Jun 21, 2008
The staff was very friendly and let us check in an hour before our reservation time of 3 p.m. The room was clean and quiet. ... Liked having the sink separate from the shower and toilet. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location was near shopping and restaurants. Parking was near an entery door. The morning breakfast bar was very good. We were very satisfied with the breakfast foods.

I had to go to a drug store for my father and found one just a short distance by car from the hotel. Also, found a McDonalds a short distance away.

Too far from Myrtle Beach
Marcio Sep 4, 2007
I was expecting the hotel to be a little bit closer to Myrtle Beach. I believe for the price I could find something better at ... Myrtle Beach. The hotel is not bad but does not offer a lot of options at the hotel. The bad was really good and the people were very friendly. I don't think it's a bad hotel, I just think if you want to stay closer to Myrtle Beach and closer to attractions it would be better to do a research and find something else. There are a lot of hotels right next to Broadway at the Beach. A lot of vacancies at Myrtle Beach right on Ocean front. Good hotel but with a little research I could find something much better.

Sharran Aug 14, 2007
Holiday Inn Express at Pawley's Island was a very good hotel. I could not ask for more friendlier and helpful people than the ... ones who worked there. The rooms were very clean and nice. Housekeeping attended to our room very well. Definitely would recommend this hotel. The location was nice and area quiet. The room was set up nicely.

Stay here
Lori Jun 25, 2007
My husband and I wanted to go to the beach and stay where it is less crowded. This was a great place to stay. The staff was ... very nice and check in was fast and easy. The motel was very close to the best place to eat...Murrell's Inlet. The traffic was so much better than at the more populated beaches. It was easy to get in and out. The motel was quiet and very family friendly. I would definitely return to this motel and I would recommend this motel to people who enjoy the beach where the pace is slower.

Great Weekend Getaway
Melissa Jun 10, 2007
The Holiday Inn Express-Pawleys Island was like being at home away from home. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There ... was plenty of room for our luggage and beach stuff. The living area gave us extra room for reading and using the computer. We especially liked the new bedsets in the rooms, a down comforter instead of a multi-colored bedspread. Another great feature was the kitchenette area with the fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. It really came in handy for restaurant leftovers. A small breakfast selection is available in the lobby, but be sure to get to it early! The hotel was only a few miles from the restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. In addition, it was close to the south causeway of the island.

Just down the street, there are many local restaurants with shopping and nightlife all in the same area. Must try Pawleys Island Tavern at night and Louis's Fish Camp for afternoon drinks and snack.

Very friendly staff - very helpful and accomodating
Debra Apr 14, 2007
We found this hotel to be price friendly and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely well kept. ... However, the pool area could have been a bit cleaner. Also, they need an elevator to service the second floor. My husband is disabled and it was diffcult to get the luggage upstairs. All was quiet at night. No loud or rowdy behavior. All in all, a great expoereince.
