We went there for our 42nd wedding anniversary to get away from the usual. After we arrived we took a rest. Then changed ... and we went to the Chumash Casino for dinner and entertainment. When we got back to the room, it was so nice to relax in such a charming, restful room. the Continential breakfast was Great! I'd give it four stars!!!!

It is very hard to find a Restraunt after 5:00 P.M. If you want to find a medium priced place to eat ask the hotel staff to make a suggestion.

Travelin' Kris Oct 23, 2009
The rooms are a little old fashioned, but VERY roomy. We had a large bedroom with fireplace, a big bathroom with separate ... counter/dressing area. Two closets and even a breakfast area with cafe table and two chairs. The staff was great and the whole place was quiet. Really close to all the shops.

Came for a little weekend getaway. Nice hotel for the price, a bit ugly room, but the location is great and the pool and ... jaccuzi was really nice!

All the stores close really early, at five. And the few restaurants that are open for dinner close at 9. So count that in when you plan your stay!

Central Location
jmbike Oct 12, 2009
Located across from the Mission, it is a little quieter than other hotel locations. Nice large room with a single King bed, ... and flat screen LCD TV. Gas fireplace in room, room temperature was set correctly even though it was cold outside. The floor plan shows that there are smaller rooms, so you should ask if you are getting one of the larger corner rooms.

A vacation in Solvang
GC Oct 3, 2009
As in the past several years Svendsgaard's was restful, quiet and well located. We pre-paid at 74.00/night for two nights. We ... asked after the second night if we could possibly have the room for one more night. They said yes at 59.00 for the extra night.

Superior Value

This hotel is centrally located in Slolvang, with all shops and restaurants nearby. Rooms are clean. It's not a luxury hotel, ... but its prices offer you a bargain for your travel/vacation dollar that others in the area do not seem to want to match. A winner.

Great place to stay for the price
Shar May 23, 2009
The most unique part of this trip for us was enjoying the mission bells ringing in the morning. We also discovered the ... miniature horse farm; a walk to the falls in the county park and we enjoyed a drive through the wine country with a stop at Fess Parkers. This was a very relaxing trip for us. The only thing missing in our room was a microwave, but we weren't planning on it.

Miniature horse ranch just one a short drive past the hotel. Horses can be seen from the road. Very fun and extraordinary.

Adequate and Inexpensive
Equine Photographer May 16, 2009
In town for a workshop, and the location was great for my needs. Room was upstairs on a busy street corner, so could hear ... traffic early in the morning even with a/c fan on. Room was large and included a mircowave and fridge. Good value for the money spent.
Traveler type: Single
We typically arrived back in town at 8:30 pm and it was difficult to find restaurants that were open. Ending up driving out to the freeway for fast food most nights. Eat early if you are going to dine out. For lunch, Panino makes amazing sandwiches and salads and is only a short walk away. Be prepared to wait if the lunch crowd is large.

Great Location for turist
Guadalupe Jan 2, 2009
The room was very comfortable, and very clean. I liked that there was two sinks and a large closet area. The fireplace was ... great. The location is great. It was next to the library , and just across from Mission Santa Ynes The Hidden Gem of the California mission. It was just on the edge of town so there was no traffic to navigate. And everything is within walking distance.

You must visit the book store/Hans cristian Handerson museum. It's on Mission, less than two blocks from the hotel.

surprised!
Robert Jan 4, 2008
We were very surprised. Normally when we try to save money on a hotel we are disappointed. Not this time. Americas best was ... really nice for the money. It's across from the mission and walking distance to everything. The staff was great and the hotel was perfect for the Danish theme. The room was really large and even had a extra bedroom with a fridge, extra sink, dressing area, blow dryer, coffee maker, and a iron+board. There was even a microwave that wasn't in there internet description. We even had a balcony with chairs and a table. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and the ice machine was always full. Oh yea I forgot about the Free wireless internet in the office and pool area. Yes I said free. We spent more for dinner than we did for our hotel room! We will go back.
Traveler type: Couples
Get out to see the sites early, because the town shuts down really early. By dark there is hardly anyone out and except for a few eateries the shops are all closed. Not to worry, Buelton is just a mile or two down the road and they have a couple of great restaurants.
