Do not use the subway on the weekends due to maintance to the tracks. The routes were all wrong and confusing. Take a cab. Also the best meal was at the Waterstone Grill on Pearl and Broad. Sunday's brunch was to die for. They has a great Lobster, shrimp, and crab omelette that has a cream sauce that just melts in your mouth. Also the continental breakfast that is served at the Embassy Suites was top notch. Thanks for helping to make our first stay in New York a great experience.

Our experience at Embassy Suites was great. The only thing missing was a pool and hottub. That would have been great for me ... and my mom's hurting feet. I loved the easy access for walking, or the subway, or taxi. We used all forms of transpertation. Every time we had a question, the staff was wonderful to accomodate or send us in the right direction. We will defiently be returning to Embassy Suites.

Cathie Oct 13, 2009
Breakfast was very crowded, but staff was amenable to making sure everyone was served. Loved the location, but a little out ... of the way to the midtown bustle. You will spend a little extra in cab money, but very nice relaxing beds and space to come back to after a day of walking. Nice to have dinner and a movie right in the hotel and shopping and harbor watching right across the street. Very nice location. Very close to Ground Zero which is not in any of the literature or reviews I read. Would like to have had frozen things in the gift shop that you could nuke in your room. Or ice cream. Paid $24 for a PINT of ice cream through room service when everything around was closed.

Embassy Suites Rocks!!
skirt Oct 5, 2009
Embassy Suites was one of the best places I've stayed at in the city. Rooms were very clean and spacious, particularly for ... the city where rooms tend to run small. They offered a complimentary Manager's reception with snacks and cocktails and a free full breakfast in the morning. The location was fantastic right on the water. But the best was the staff. They were extremely friendly and very, very helpful. I will look to stay here every time I go to the city!!!

Comfortable stay
Jan Oct 4, 2009
We were staying at the hotel with a large number of family and friends for Friday into Saturday wedding festivities. All the ... rooms/suites were spacious and able to accommodate everyone. The private room made available for our breakfast was spacious yet intimate and we felt like honored guests. The breakfast was delicious and attractively displayed. The attendants were so quick to replenish dishes that we never lacked the food everyone wanted. This is impressive because we were scheduled into the room from 9 - 12am after an evening of wedding festivities and our large group straggled in in bunches over the course of the time but all the food remained at the proper temperature and moisture so everyone had a delicious meal regardless of when they arrived. I was impressed with the available parking, either valet or self-park. We parked in a deck that was one block from the hotel. It was $50 overnight which was quite reasonable for the area. Although it is a city street, there is a hotel drop-off area with efficient staff to direct traffic, obtain taxis, unload the vehicle and get you into the hotel. When we stepped from the hotel needing a taxi to take us to the reception, the valet was quick to obtain one for us. The lobby area was spacious and the reception desk was well-manned with polite and informative staff. It truly felt that their purpose was to ensure a comfortable stay at the hotel. Small groups could meet up without feeling confined so, as we were all leaving at the same time, we could say good-bye to one another without losing sight of anyone. The decor was very "New York", stylish yet welcoming. The Unity Room in which we had our breakfast was especially so with a winding staircase in a funky black and white design. The ceiling had quotes from various prominent people and groups that defined unity and getting along in life with all our human neighbors. It was a mix of elegance, fun and comfort. I will choose this hotel again when I have the need to stay in TriBeCa again. I hope that will be soon!

The Embassy Suites New York is a really beautiful hotel. The two-room suite that we stayed in had plenty of space, but it ... was a little pricey and only affordable because of group of us shared the suite. The hotel wasn't really in walking distance to much, but it was fairly close to a handful of attractions via a quick taxi ride. Overall, our stay was pleasant, and the Embassy Suites New York matched our needs!

Take time out to explore the esplanade north and south and also the irish hunger memorial.
--Tron, uk Sep 5, 2009
The hotel features several restaurants...they are average, but convenient. Pizza place was a disappointment - Pizza Hut would have been better (that is not a compliment to Pizza Hut!) Pick-a-Bagel was the best and cheapest (sandiwiches, delicious hot soup, yummy desserts). Just one block up is a Whole Foods - you can get a hot or cold meal there and bring it back to the hotel. Also more inexpensive than the chains at Embassy. At World Financial Center across the street are more pricey places to eat and some of them close early - so check before you go.

From the Embassy Suites walk to the shore of the Hudson just outside the hotel, then go left down the Hudson shore to Battery Park. You can loop back up past Wall St. and back to the hotel. An enjoying walk for a couple hours (stopping at a pub for a beer of course).
