Frequent Stayer Dec 13, 2009
I always like the trop and the quarter, but this time around the wait time in line to check in was ridicious. I waited for ... about 20+ minutes with over 50 people in line and 4 actual staff members checking people in. They should get more staff to check people in or open up the preminum check-in staff to us regular folk so we can move the line. There were 3 preminum check-in staff members just standing there the whole time doing nothing.

We had a work dinner at Carmine's and then stayed over for the night. I was very happy I was upgraded to the Havana tower but ... for some reason I was thinking the room would be bigger and also more new looking. It was still a good time and we slept good. The beds were a little hard though.

"We got what we paid for"
Debra Dec 7, 2009
When we arrived we were impressed with the overall look of the hotel but that was where it ended. We found the staff to be ... uncaring and rude and our room was noisy and inconvenient. After being in the room 10 minutes we noticed a strange banging noise and thought it would stop. No, it continued all night long. When we brought this to the attention of 3 separate managers they acted as if we were imagining it and refused to do anything about it. On first impression we thought what an amazing deal we got but at the end we got what we paid for.

Tropicana Casino and Resort
Nik Nov 28, 2009
First, the woman at the check in counter could not find the reservation. When she asked to see the credit card that I booked ... the room with, I assumed she was going to look it up by that. Instead, she tried to charge my card for an extra room. It took over a half hour to finally get checked in. The prices, even for a casino, were ridiculous. I recommend Resorts or Bally's above the Tropicana.

What a great trip!
AC first timer Nov 23, 2009
Our stay at the Tropicana was wonderful! Our room was located in the West Tower and was clean. The room had a mini fridge ... which came in handy many times. The house keeping staff was very pleasant and did a great job. We spent most of our time gambling at the craps tables. I've been to Vegas numerous times, but this was my first trip to AC. The casino employees were much more friendly and would even make helpful suggestions, as this was my first time playing craps. The food at the Tropican was amazing, P.F. Changs was my favorite.

A lot of time and Money went into the Casino and Shopping areas of the Hotel. The rooms were OK, nothing spectacular. Decor ... needs to be updated. No flat scene TV's even though many lesser Hotel/motels now have them. However, room was clean and neat.

While you could certainly spend your entire vacation at the Trop and not get bored, there are so many other places in Atlantic City. Take advantage of your stay on the boardwalk and if the weather cooperates, enjoy a leisurely stroll up to other casinos. Trump Plaza, Caesar's, and Bally's are within a comfortable distance and offer other great restaurants, casino games, and shops.
