This trip was very enjoyable. Stayed one night and was able to explore the Ship. A late night stroll thoughtout the ship is ... definitely a must. Had dinner at the Promenade Cafe and enjoyed the view of Long Beach. Although there isn't much to report about the paranormal activity, it was a little spooky anyway. Try to stay a few more nights to increase the chances of a ghostly experience.

Fabulous floating hotel
Sequinqueen Oct 31, 2009
This was a starting point for a week long SURPRISE trip for my husband's 60th birthday. The stateroom was far more beautiful ... than we expected and the original decor gave us a very nostalgic and romantic feeling. The staff was very useful in providing us with special "guests" only treatment when it came to taking the tours i.e. Ghosts and Legends and Engine Room. Our next leg of our trip was to board a Carnival Cruise ship and there was MASSIVE confusion as to how we could best take advantage of the "early check in" for Carnival. We spoke with Guest Information desk, Valet and an employee offering assistance by the anchor. We walked around with 3 large suitcases for quite sometime. We were VIP guests on Carnival, and none of the 3 associates with the QM knew where we should go for early check in. Finally a female associate with QM said she overheard our situation and had seen us wandering around. She told us where to go at the Carnival terminals, dropped off our luggage, checked in for the cruise, checked out of the QM, had a wonderful lunch on QM overlooking Long Beach Harbor, took an extensive self-guided tour of the engine room and such, and continued on our way for a delightful trip. Thank you to that lady, I only wish I had gotten her name (short blonde hair, white, middle 50's, standing by the anchor). You don't want to do express check in with QM if you are a VIP guest with Carnival. I do wish stores on QM were open later.

Anne and Mick Oct 12, 2009
Wonderful opportunity to live some history. Really appreciated the extent to which the ship was preserved. The old music ... playing really added to the atmosphere of yesteryear! The shops on board were great as was the ghost tour. Enjoyed being able to explore the ship in our own time. Shuttle into town every 30 minutes until 11 pm. Nice restaurants on board as well as in town on Pine ave, especially the seafood one. Loved the rooms. Lovely comfortable beds. Great balance between two eras.

Disappointed to be disappointed
Diane & Jim Sep 20, 2009
We booked a stateroom with a full size bed and were given a room with 2 small twin beds. When we requested a change we were ... told we booked through a third party - Orbitz - and all third party bookings were automatically given the 2-twin rooms. Nothing could be done. There were many small and medium size flies in the room. Although this was most disappointing - the more serious issue was the noise. There was a Queen Mary organized "Pirate Event" at the hotel this weekend. The many costumed patrons were entertaining to look at and added entertainment during the day - however - were VERY rowdy with raucous singing, shouting and drinking in the stateroom corridors until well past 3:30 in the morning. No attempts to control these folks from the hotel management or security. We actually changed our table at breakfast the following morning as the 'pirates' shouted between the their tables. At nearly $250 for one night with the cost of parking, we would recommend a day visit to the Queen Mary to appreciate its history - and book overnight accommodations at any of the nearby hotels.

We enjoyed our one night stay on the QM. The historical aspect of it all was fascinating. The room was dated, of course, but ... clean and had a tv, phone...The restaurant and bar was expensive but we expected that. Service was great in all areas. We would stay again if we were in the area.

It was a great way to spend our anniversary. There's so much to do down there from walking the ship (day or night) to taking ... guided and self-guided tours. There's plenty of great restaurants on the ship as well as an outstanding Sunday brunch! It's also walking distance to downtown Long Beach where there are plenty of entertaining spots to check out.

We spent one night there. We checked into a room and soon realized that the room across the hall was very very loud with ... young people who were screaming and talking and banging against the walls. Party time I guess! We went to the front desk and asked for another room and were given one without any problems. It was quiet, and a larger room. The staterooms are much as they would have been when the ship was sailing. Lots of wood, lots of storage space and our room had 2 portholes overlooking the ocean. Very comfortable bed. We took our own self guided tour. You are free to explore all the nooks and crannies all the way to the top of the ship, to the lower areas. We enjoyed that tremendously. We ate at the Promenade Restaurant. Food was good, but $3.50 seems high for a cup of coffee. Breakfast buffet was $9.95 and very good. We would definitely stay again. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
