Deffinately reccomend Pacific Beach hotel! We are from WI we had a partial Ocean View resv.stayed 8 days over x-mas 2009 ... they upgraded us to a full ocean view. We asked for a higher up room and they put us on the 36th floor which was perfect. Away from street noise and Awesome view of Diamond head, Waikiki beach and ocean. The beach is a block away you are surrounded by shops and great restaurants. Reccomend Dukes and Hula Grill for dinner or lunch. City is very busy with tourists would deffinately say check out north shore and Kuaui for scenic hawaiian beauty you think of. A day trip to Kuaui the flight was only $250 for 2 people. Make sure to rent a car on Kauai. transportation not very good there. Also check out Captain Andy's Na Pali tours. Do the raft for more thrilling ride. Saw Dolphins and Whales amazing dolphins were swimming right next to the raft very cool.

Hotel is over priced
Lee the traveler Dec 14, 2009
Great view - we have partial ocean view - one side is mountain and the other side is ocean (Wakiki beach). It's over priced ... though. Room is clean and nice. There are so many other places to stay in Wakiki, which makes this one not very desirable. Won't stay there again. Very tricky to get to the front lobby from the street.

We enjoyed driving around the island. However, street signs were difficult to see. If we had it to do all over again, we would take a GPS, to help us find our way to specific sights.

They wanted more money
Brent Dec 13, 2009
The location was great. Just across the street from the beach. The disappointment was that we upgraded our room for a full ... view of the beach and ocean. When we got to our room, the view of the beach and ocean was around the corner of the building. When we called and inquired about our room they said for a front view it would be an additional $80 per night. But we had already paid an additional $47 per night. We were unhappy with the fact that they wanted more money and felt ripped off.

Alwizard Dec 5, 2009
Iwas pleasantly surprised with a roomy up to date hotel room. Above average I would rate it compared to others with large ... new tv, expensive carpet and furniture. All staff were courteous, helpful and friendly all the way down to the maids. You pay for everything... internet, phone calls, etc

One of the worst I've stayed in
CJ Nov 24, 2009
One of the worst I've stayed in. You have to pay (alot) for everything, fitness center, internet, business center. I'm ... suprised I wasn't charged to use the elavator! The facilities were in margenal condition. The pool, well I've seen bigger hot tubs, the sun deck was cement with a couple loungers, very poor. I would not stay here again.

Pacific Beach Hotel

Hotel was good over all. Didn't like the fact that we paid for ocean view and the only way you could see it was from the one ... corner of the balcony when they have rooms that face it directly. That was disappointing. Other than that everything was good.

enjoyable week
Bob Nov 13, 2009
The Pacific Beach Hotel is a large place, rooms are somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony was ... great, beach looking one way and mountains looking the other. Parking garage attached to hotel and convienient, hotel food was very good, but pretty expensive. Breakfast buffett for two was $38.00, discount tickets are available but you have to ask about them. Very nice place to use as a base to go back to each night to sleep, then go out each day and explore the island.

K Nov 4, 2009
We didn't spend much time in the room, but for what it was, it was clean and comfortable. The location was great (right ... across the beach) and convenient. Parking was $15 extra, which wasn't TOO bad, though I wish it could be cheaper. My only qualm with this place was that this is the only hotel I've stayed at (and I've stayed at quite a few around the world) that charges for the use of the safe. $3 per day, to be exact. It's not a lot of money, but when everyone else offers it as a free amenity, it just makes you feel like they're trying to milk you where they can.

Halloween Weekend at Pacific Beach Hotel
FEDz Nov 2, 2009
Although the stay was short (2 days), the hotel met my needs. Location couldn't get any better. Towards the end of Kalakaua ... Ave. across the beach which was perfect for walking down Kalalaua Ave through Waikiki for the Halloween festivities. Service was friendly. Only thing, Housekeepers should wait for an answer to their knock before opening door while someone is showering, but even the apology was friendly. :)

This is a good choice for Waikiki. The rooms are unremarkable but clean. There is some room to room noise, but I didn't ... notice any in the evenings. The restaurant is too noisy for a business meeting, but there are plenty of places nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful.

It was the perfect location! The staff were wonderful! The restaurant was excellent! The waiters and waitresses were superb! ... The food was delicious! the room was nice and they had soap, body wash, shampoo ,toothbrushes and toothpaste furnished(this is nice since the restrictions the airlines put on stuff like this). The room had all we needed and then some! The Housekeeping staff were great too! We will definitely stay here on our next visit!

We recommend eating in the food court of the Ala Moana shopping complex. It is a short drive from the hotel or a short taxi ride, but it has many selections, the cost reasonable for Hawaii, and generally very good quality.
