nice pool and workout room

The room was very clean and the bed exceptional. There was a FREE internet connection that worked fast. Parking was free and ... easy. It was hard deciding on a three or four star rating. I would say a three and a half. This is a budget hotel in an expensive area.

We were put into a handicap room with low hangar rod in closet, small sink because of oversized bathroom, and a shower that ... was very low (shower head kept sliding down rod). After asking, we were moved to a regular room the second night, but it would have been better if they let us know up front that they were putting us in a handicap room (only room available?) and offer us the regular room the next night without us having to ask. Other than that, and no continental breakfast, it's a nice hotel in a good location.

There's a fantastic Italian restaurant a two minute walk away called Da'Domenico's. Marvelous food, wonderful family atmosphere with a singer that brought tears to our eyes.

I was only there briefly and did not take advantage of all the hotel had to offer. It is a great location and I will be ... using it again as I return to DC for a more extended stay. It is directly across from the mall and some wonderful restaurants.

Not bad, not great
Terry Jun 15, 2009
It's a nice hotel, and the room was very well decorated and supplied. Unfortunately, the little fridge in the room had a ... compressor that kicked on with a "thunk" and then emitted a very high whine that was very disturbing. Then it went off with another loud "thunk." It woke me up every time it kicked on. Additionally, the head of the staff at breakfast was rude and condenscending. She alienated every customer who came in for breakfast. Last, for some reason, the bar was closed on weekends, which is unbelievable. In order for us to gather at the bar we had to leave the hotel and go next door to the Crowne Plaza. Rather annoying. However, the price of the hotel, thanks to Orbitz, was outstanding. The complaints are minor considering the value. There is a drawback on using debit cards, because they put a hold on your checking account for 7-10 days if you use a debit card. This isn't mentioned anywhere in the website for the hotel.

If DC is your point of interest, then you can find many more hotels closer to DC. Even though it was only 15 minutes from ... DC, Crystal City offers hotels with similar prices and quality and is only 5 minutes from DC. However, we found the hotel room to be quiet, clean and nicely furnished. The beds were especially comfortable. For those who like to shop, the hotel is ideally located directly across from two distinguished malls.

Pack some snacks! The hotel provides a mini fridge in each room. So, take advantage!. If you can find a supermarket or convenience store like 7Eleven from the hotel, even better. You could enjoy more at night eating in a nice DC restaurant and shopping at the Tysons Corner Mall(one of the biggest malls in America with 600 stores)
