Hotel was very comfortable. Our room looked out over the airport. We could hardly leave because it was so facinating to watch ... planes take off and land, sometimes side by side on the two runways across the water. AM sunrise pictures are the stuff you see in professional photo magazines. Free shuttle service to airport is convenient. Some Marriott lines have continental breakfast. We missed not having that.

Shuttle to airport starts very early (4:30 am). There was a line by 4:20, almost full to capacity (20, I think). Get to the lobby extra early.

A unhappy birthday stay

I stayed at the Marriot, and booked a king Suite. Not only did I not get the room I booked, I have stayed at quite a few ... hotels the checkin cleark was rude, unhelpful and left me standing there when I was asking questions about why the room was not ready at check in time, I asked how long it would take and she walked off. Not only was the staff unhelpful I asked for extra towels so that my fiancee and I could go swimming, they ever brought them and they were not at the pool either.... You also have to pay for parking at the hotel parking lot , which I have never had to do at anthor hotel , It is common practice for this hotel apprently when I asked the Response was all guest pay for parking..... which is not much cheaper then if you went and parked all night and was not a guest at the hotel.

San Francisco Airport Marriott

-I got tickets to "Wicked" Playing in San Francisco. The trip into the city and back was simpler than I had imagined, so ... don't get upset if you can only get an Airport hotel, the city is closer than you think! -The Hotel overcharges for internet access. -Take the local public transportation into the local town for theatre, restaurants and ice cream/yogurt, or take the same bus in the opposite direction into the city, walk one block to Market Street, then take city transport (try the streetcars! Just ride around to see where each car goes) to all the touristy San Francisco spots such as Pier 39 and to see the Golden Gate Bridge, etc. -The Hotel apparently charges guests for parking (a large daily fee) so forget rental cars and learn to enjoy some of the best public transportation in the USA. -The Hotel staff are so friendly you'll think they're all Stepford Wives, annoying for me, but some people might enjoy it. -Hotel rate and restaurant was too pricey for me, but it was worth every penny if you can spare it.

Disappointing
Vivien Aug 5, 2008
The room was comfortable enough - adequate. Cleanliness was less than satisfactory. I moved an easy chair and no vacuum ... cleaner had seen under it for awhile. The coffee/tea machine had not been serviced - no creamer, no tea, no sweetener, and only one tea bag left in a pack of two. The breakfast order tag left on the bed was already filled in for another room....(I guess recycling is a priority.) No shower cap. Room service for dinner was good though - on time, very polite staff. All in all, a bit lack-lustre considering the prices charged. I wouldn't stay there again.

This Marriott was very good - great staff, comfortable room, large lobby with a view of the Bay. The only downside was ... connectivity - they don't offer free Internet access!
