Great location, loved the shuttle
Needed a Vacation Nov 10, 2009
Beautiful grounds, very clean pool with whirlpool, very, very friendly staff. Room was great, quiet and spacious. Starbucks ... right next to dining area, nice touch. Loved the shuttle service, they picked us up within 5-10 minutes of calling, very nice guys. Only bad point was when we asked for a cab to Camelback mountain to do some hiking. Instead of a cab we were provided a car service who charged us $35.00 for a round trip of about 5 miles.

Watch the door!
Sunburned! Sep 28, 2009
We loved the location for the various restaurants, sightseeing, and the great antique bookstore in the 5th Avenue shops! Just ... had one small issue with a piece of metal on the door that cut my hand when I pushed open the door. A maintenance call was made and we were told it was fixed, but it was not. As long as I watched out for it, it was OK, but the offer of a warm cookie did not negate the blood running down my hand! Aside from the door problem, the place was great. The staff was very friendly, helping us get a shuttle into downtown and even coming to pick us up!

Beautiful grounds and pools
Happy Traveler Sep 17, 2009
We chose this hotel for the location near Old Scottsdale, the mall, good restaurants, and a reasonable distance from the ... airport. It is an older property, but immaculantly maintained. The pools were clean, uncrowded, and there were plenty of chairs. All the rooms and the pools are flanked by mature, blooming landscape. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. The room was a double and quite spacious, however the bathroom was showing its age somewhat. Everything was clean, beds were ultra comfortable, and each room had a small patio with table and chairs. We would definitely return!

Great,relaxing few days!
Mid Life Traveler Sep 12, 2009
Generally a very relaxing great place. Had a wonderful deal that included a $100 food an beverage credit that we used for ... dinner (with a cocktail each)and the full morning buffet breakfast. Restaurant service was terrific. Only complaint was that each time we went to the pool, there were no clean towels and had to call numerous times for new ones to be brought down. The facility is large and we were on the 2nd floor far from the pool we enjoyed. For us no problem but if anyone in the party has difficulty with distance, stairs or breathing check out where your room is first. The elevator is not really a great help unless you are very near to it.

Relaxing getaway with a great price!
Bearbub Aug 10, 2009
Unbeliveable experience for the price. Rooms were clean, big and we had a patio that over looked the pool so we could see ... what was going on out there. The pool server, Rebecca was over the top and helped us enjoy the refreshing pool on a hot day. The front desk "gate keepers" made us feel welcome right away and went the extra mile in getting us the room we desired. HUGE towels and the rooms totally give you the resort feel. There were several great restaurants within a few miles which was nice. The ONLY thing that I wouldn't rate a "A" on was that housekeeping tried to come in too early (twice) before we were checking out. A "Do Not Disturb" sign would have worked well in this instance. Hard to beat staying in the heart of Scottsdale at this kind of a place for under $100 bucks. We highly recommend and we will be back!!

You've got several places to choose from within a few miles. we were going to Don and Charlie's steakhouse but they were only serving until 9pm that night so we went to Houston's which was only a mile or so up the road. Great meal and I got a piece of key lime pie to go and enjoyed on the patio at my room once we got back to the Doubletree.
