Wonderful Hotel; bargain price!
Albert Diane Oct 26, 2009
The room was handsome and well-furnished. The hotel pool was beautiful and warm. The spa was also very nice, but a tad on ... the overchlorinated side (an occupational hazard at hotel spas). The hotel grounds and patios are lovely and spacious with lots of little tables scattered around. The food at Sprigs was amazingly delicious and the wait staff were warm and quite accommodating. They allowed a substitution from a B.L.T.A sandwich to a C.L.T.A. sandwich (Instead of Bacon I had Cheese)! And the shoestring french fries with parmesan cheese are the best fries ever!

The hotel is located almost immediately next to San Jose International Airport. This is very convenient and considering the bargain price, an excellent choice for the business or leisure traveler.

Was waiting for a flight out next day, no problems with a early check in . Sat around the pool all day. I do think that the ... dining and drinks prices are somewhat hight e.g bottle of Blue Moon $7.00 no happy hour ? It is a very comfortable hotel bed was really comfortable. Staff were all very helpful and polite, well worth the price.

Double your expenses
megs Aug 16, 2009
Stayed here before a big flight to Hawaii. Things seemed good at first. The price was right-$18/night. What?! Also, we were ... hoping to use the internet in our room, but could not get it to connect even after 2 calls to the front desk. So no internet access-could only get it in the common areas of the hotel. The pool was the star of the show. It was warm, not too crowded and easily accessible and you can BYOB. The hot tub was nice too. The room was big, but faced the 101-S so it was a little noisy. Also, lots of partying going on late at night (like 2am) which was quite annoying. The trip to starbucks in the morning was a failure as well. The fruit cups were not Starbucks quality and not starbucks prices-$ 5. 25 for a small fruit cup? The iced tea was not starbucks brand so I ended up exchanging it for a cup of coffee which I had to wait on for 5 minutes because the lady forgot to keep up with brewing. I work part time as a barista and that stuff can not be happening especially early in the morning.

Lovely room and the pool was perfect. Best night's sleep I've ever had at a hotel. Staff was very friendly. Only minor ... complaint was that i had to call the front desk twice to get an item sent to my room, but the second time I did call they were very prompt.

My stay in San Jose
member of the conference Jul 21, 2009
The Doubletree has the best beds ever, and the rooms were very clean. Even though you can literally see the planes taking ... off next door you won't hear them. It is a sight to see from your poolside room. However, I did request that someone check the sliding glass door to the room because the handle was broken and didn't lock. It was never checked out. The food was presented well but made me very sick two days in a row.

Survey the area before you get there so that you have a selection of what you want as this is still in a business area and not alot of places in walking distance.

Check in was quick and easy. Very friendly people and we were greeted with freshly baked large chocolate chippers for each ... family member! Yummy! The location is centrally located. Minutes away from downtown San Jose and approx. 30-40 min. from San Francisco. The entire family enjoyed themselves and we would stay there again.

Terrible experience
GymnDad Jun 30, 2009
The pool was rented out to a private party company all day Sunday until 8PM with very loud music and young partiers ... everywhere. I was there for a gymnastics event at the convention center and wanted to have my 11 year old daughter and her friend come go for a swim between events but that was impossible. The mob was out of control--even for adults at the hotel, as evidenced by the four police cars out front when I got back to the hotel from the venue Sunday evening. Other patrons complained as they walked the halls. The room itself was fair. Parking availability and cost are a joke. The staff was marginal. All in all, a really poor experience.

Great location if you want to be close to AP. However, hotel room felt like a masoleum. Carpet was dirty, furniture dirty and ... sheets were uncomfortable. They need more air conditioning in the room! Good for price and location ONLY.
