GREAT HOTEL, GREAT SERVICE!
Shellibean Oct 16, 2009
Great service the whole stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large with very comfy beds. The pool area is ... nice anytime of day or night. It even has a bar! The location is pretty good. Right on Ventura Blvd. Close to lots of restaurants and SHOPPING!. Bus stops are everywhere for a quick ride to City Walk or Hollywood. Ralph's is right across the street. We've stayed here 3 times already this year and are going back in a few weeks. It's our "home away from home." Bonus: We've run into quite a few celebs at this spot...

The hotel is OK. I like the retro kitch of the place and the rocker aspect of this Ventura Blvd. mainstay. Two of the plugs ... didn't work in my room, and the service was average.

Any kind of dining is available. Each room has a small refrigerator, and there is a big grocery store across the street with great food. So, that is a real bargain. There is a family style coffeee shop a block away called Twains, and everything kind of food you can name--a famous deli named Jerry's--many movie and TV stars go there--Indian, Chinese, you name it. And you can walk to it all!!

Comfy, not ritzy...
Vegas visitor Jul 8, 2009
This hotel was very pricy considering the accommodations. The rooms and carpet looked dated and the bathroom tub was peeling ... a coating very badly. There was a noisy mini fridge in a cabinet under the TV. Overall, not bad but not worth what was paid or what they wanted to charge...

Awesome hotel
smith Jul 7, 2009
The first thing that impressed me is their very friendly service. We were given two queen beds and the location is great. ... They have the shuttle service between Universal studios and the hotel. Since the studio is open until 8pm, I mentioned to them that we will need to be picked up by 7:30pm shuttle. The shuttle never came. After a phone call to them, they sent the bus to pick us up in the next 15 minutes. Very good customer service.

The room was great and childeren friendly. My little 8 year old daughter was able to hook her game system up with no ... problems. She really enjoyed the swimming pool more than Universal Studios. The staff was great. Being from San Francisco the front desk people had Map Quest all the sites we wanted to see. It's a no brainer to where well be staying on our next visit to LA.

Pleasant Experience
East Coast Traveler Apr 23, 2009
We enjoyed visitng the LA zoo & our family. The hotel was very clean & everyone polite. Good eats at the restaurnat. We did ... not like the $10 fee per night to park our car in THEIR lot. Also our room was located next to a mtg. room that had a 9AM Sunday church service. We like to sleep in. However the management removed the parking fee as token for our inconvience of the music. A nice gesture!! We will return for another stay.

Good Location for College Visits around LA
Shannon Oct 30, 2008
My daughter and I came from Boston to visit colleges in the LA area, and the location of the hotel relative to the highways ... we had to take to various locations was very convenient. The pool (and cold drinks at the cabana) offered a nice break after a long morning of touring campuses. The balcony gave us an escape, when we got on each others nerves, and the breakfast was good too.

Directly across the street is both a Starbuck's (with 2 hrs free internet, if you have a card) and Ralph's gourmet grocery for those times when a full dinner is too much, and pharmacy for the extra aspirin we needed.

Ronald Oct 27, 2008
I was both pleased and surprised by the way certain hotel employees (S.C.in particular) went well beyond the call of duty to ... point out interesting things to do in the region and even provide directions for getting there. This extra amenity made us feel very comfortable at the hotel and really enhanced the overall value of our vacation.

We hadn't planned to visit Venice Beach, but, at a hotel employee's suggestion, we did so, and really enjoyed the atmosphere and scenery.
