Great Hotel
SF Rich Jan 18, 2010
The hotel was VERY nice. It was very new looking and had a great atmosphere. However if you buy a suite on here you ... probably wont get it unless its not too busy. The Chargers playoff game was happening so we got bumped from the suite. But the staff was very nice and gave us a exectuive floor room on the top floor with a view of the city and bay. In addition they comped our parking and gave us a fabulous free breakfast. So although we didnt get the room we got a hell of a deal and a great experience.

Great Location, Great Service
Sage Jan 12, 2010
The perfect basis for a wonderful trip. I had to attend a conference yet also had my child with me. This hotel really ... provided the best of both worlds. I chose the Hilton Gaslamp over the conference hotel, which turned out to be a breath of fresh air. Right in the Gaslamp district, close to Balboa Park and other attractions, such as nearby Coronado, it was a perfect location for us. The hotel is stylishly appointed, the quality of the restaurant is comparable if not better than surrounding restaurants, it has a cute pool and little gym, yet it is affordable. The spa next door has wonderful massages. Highly recommended!

Great to be right above the Gaslamp quarter in San Diego where a lot of destinations were within walking distance and the Zoo ... and Balboa Park just a short ride away. With the busy street below us and the trolleys and trains behind us, it was pretty noisy but not enough to ruin the trip.

Perfect location between CC and Gaslamp
Traveling Physics Student Aug 7, 2009
I was sent to San Diego for a conference, but was able to bring the wife along. The location was perfect, as I could walk ... from hotel room door to the Convention Center front door in about 3 minutes. In less time we could walk the other direction into any number of great restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter. The wife enjoyed the pool and fitness center, though I thought they were a bit small and crowded. The staff was great and the rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. Our only complaint is noise from the nearby passenger trains in the afternoon. I didn't mind it normally, but its a bit tough to nap and its especially bad out at the pool. Oh, and there was no complimentary breakfast. Other than that, what a great place to stay!

The ladies at the information desk in the Convention Center gave very good advice: recommended an Italian restaurant, Chianti, that turned out to be fabulous, informed us of all the happy hours, etc. They also had some good coupons and discounts: $18 off second entree when purchasing two drinks (Chianti) and a 20% discount on harbor cruise tickets, among others.

We were visiting San Diego for the first time. The hotel is in a great location for getting to all major attractions. Short ... ride to zoo, coronado, and even La jolla. The fish tacos from room service were great! No wi-fi in the room. I have a new netbook and there was no router in the room. that was frustrating. The rooms were plain as was the hotel but functional and seemed to work well for families and business travelers. I believe that for couples or singles you could find a more interesting option.

The staff there was wonderful and extremely helpfull with directions. We got our tickets to the zoo right at the hotel and ... didn't have to wait in the long lines. The only downside was it was a little expensive for meals etc. The location was fantastic also, right in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter, easy walk to LOTS of resturants of every kind.

The Hilton Hotel in the Gaslamp area of San Diego was exceptional. The service was excellent and the staff was a joy. We ... didn't meet one disgruntled emloyee. When we asked a question about where to visit or what to see each person was extremely helpful. Our room was beautiful and clean. Our view of the convention center and area was magical at night with the lights glowing. We will stay there again as it is very convenient to so many of our favorite areas of San Diego. We were made to feel like royalty!

Jeannine Aug 5, 2007
The Hilton at Gaslamp quarter is a very comfortable hotel. The bed was fabulous, with wonderful bedding and lots of great ... pillows! The staff was very friendly. The only downside to our stay, is that the onsite business center did not offer QUICK solutions. We had our own laptop and were suppose to be able to print from our room, which did not work. Several calls to their tech support did not get the problem resolved. We tried printing from the onsite business center with their computer...again technical problems. After two calls to tech support we were able to get a document printed. The onsite business center does not offer any needed office supplies (paper clips, staplers, etc.) However, this is where the friendly staff came in...they were able to get us what we needed.
