Days Inn Bypass Road Williamsburg, Va
traveler Oct 17, 2009
This was a 2 day, middle of the week stay. Everything was good, good breakfast, great coffee ! And the room was clean, warm, ... and quiet, except for little things, like the tub was missing some sealant and starting to pick up mildew, and the door to the bathroom was off it's hinge a little bit; the main entrance door was also out of alignment, and was so heavy, it banged you into the wall or hit your foot as you try to get inside. Could be trouble ! Beds were great, linens were clean, nice place !

Williamsburg Weekend
Rick Sep 28, 2009
Spent the weekend here while I went to a half day class in VB. Check in took all of 3 min and we were headed for our room. ... Room was comfortable, clean and quiet even though the hotel was full. The porch and living room were inviting to just sit and waste time. The beds were the best we had seen in a hotel for a long time. No problem with parking. Food was about 5 min away and favorite attractions were 15 min or less. Staff was very friendly. Will probably stay here more often in the Fall/Winter season(our usual visiting season)

Days Inn - good value

The staff were very friendly. Our only complaint was that we had to go searching for towels upon our arrival, and ... housekeeping never came to clean the room or replace the towels on our second day. We enjoyed the pool and the room was comfortable. We were happy with the price and the location.

The hotel was FINE, but the housekeeping was not great... after first night, one bed made, one not; pieces of trash under ... sink; toilet paper left on counter and not put on; not all towels and bath mat returned until after 4pm; told two separate people at front desk that umbrellas were blowing over tables at pool - nothing was done about it; lousy continental breakfast compared to other hotels

Days in Williamsburg
NA Aug 2, 2009
Room wasn't very clean. Snack Chips on floor, counters not clean. Breakfast was substandard. When reporting these issues to ... the front desk, the reply I received was that they would be reported to the manager. The women at the desk said she knew the cleaning staff was horrible and that the breakfast offering had just started. Apparently the staff know they have a dirty hotel, and the manager doesn't care, or he would fire and replace the cleaning staff who don't do proper work.

Hols Jul 24, 2009
The front desk was always very helpful and kind to us and the room was cleaned nicely every day. They did not have a ... refrigerator in the room (it cost $11.00 a day extra) and that would have made it a bit better. It was very close to Colonial Williamsburg and convenient to most everything. A few reviews on this site scared me a bit, so it was better than I had expected. The breakfast buffet was one thing I agreed with the other reviewers about - it was not very good. The muffins and pastry were half frozen and there was no fruit until the last day when they put out a big bowl of bananas. That would have made a big difference to me - if the breakfast had been better.

Days Inn Jun 20, 2009
We first walked in and the staff was very rude, couldnt find the reservation and then sent us to another Days Inn hotel ... without looking at the reservation confirmation that we had with us. We had to drive to the other hotel just to be told to go back...so the guy said it was all our fault and was not in a good mood and seemed to be irritated that we were causing him to do his JOB! He was the worst staff I have ever seen at a Days Inn.

Good price, but not very clean
LovinUSA Jun 16, 2009
The rate we got was really great, but the hotel seems to be very dated and not very clean. Our room was vacuumed each day and ... towels were changed out, but we could tell the bathroom had not been cleaned each day. The hotel was quiet and that was a welcome change. Overall we'd say the stay was adequate, we were located near everything (historic triangle, Busch Gardens, shopping, etc.) but they definitely need to do some cosmetic work on the hotel and do better with cleaning.
Traveler type: Couples
Busch Gardens was only about a 5-10 minute drive away.

Ate at Christiana Campbell's Tavern in the historic area -- the ambiance was nice with waiters dressed in period costumes and even a visit from the Christiana herself who explained to everyone how she came to own the tavern and how many times (over 90 I think) she has served George Washington. However -- it was really pricey and the food was only so-so.
