The breakfast buffet was cold, everything was cold. I commented to the young lady who offered to make me new eggs. By then ... I had lost my appetite. She went out of her way to please me, but I expect a buffet to be perfect. She was professional and reduced the bill by half, but I did not have another meal in the hotel in my stay. The apple cider and the apples were a nice touch. The staff was very pleasant and Professional.

super location Sep 30, 2009
Staff was very personable and efficient during check-in. Made the process a pleasure. they were having a guest special which ... included pastries in the morning and vegetables & dip in the afternoon. My kids loved that. the evening we check in we walked about three blocks east to CVS to gather some necessities and then ordered in Pizza. two double beds were very comfortable. One chair at the desk, one by the window with a good view from the 8th floor, and two surprise ottomans tucked under the 32inLCD. very useful. I liked the seating because I had 4 kids with me. Following day we checked out and left our bags in the hotel storage. we stocked up on some goodies at COSTCO about 4 blocks away, to the Pentagon city fashion centre, visited the virginia highlands park playground, and happened to come across firehouse having an event. It was an eventful day. If we were to stay longer we would of had even more fun in the area. Will definitely use this hotel again

The pool was not available at all--it was closed for renovation for 2009 but there was no notification that this was so when ... I booked the reservation online. It would have been nice to have that information since we were anticipating some pool time. We had some minor difficulty accessing the 24-fitness center early in the morning and had to contact the manager on duty to open it for us. The elevators were undergoing repairs so service was noticeably slower; the hotel did provide free Internet access on its computers in the lobby though to make up for the inconvenience.

The Sheraton is a great hotel to stay at for a weekend trip to D.C. and was definitely worth the money we paid. My husband ... and I appreciated the convenience of having a Metro stop right across the street from the hotel. The rooms were clean and modern looking. I would definitely stay there again especially for the bargain price we got on the room.

"Good, better, BEST"
Buzz Jun 22, 2009
I have stayed in 4 other hotels in this area and this was the best! The others were quite good also but the Sheraton ... excelled in their service. Always very friendly, quick to offer help even before you might ask (approaching the front desk for example). Different staff might also ask you how your day or trip was going and offer suggestions as well. It goes without saying that the rooms and common areas were very appealing and in spotless condition. The rooms were very quiet as well. am afraid That I cannot comment on the pool and fitness center as there was no time to use these; I am sure they are up to the standards exemplified elsewhere. There is free computer access in the lobby for guests (4 stations at least) and June was Guest Appreciation Month so there were free coffee and pastries in the lobby mornings and late afternoons. All in all a superb stay!! Highly recommended for individuals, couples, and families

Great Stay for your Pay
Weekend Traveler Jun 21, 2009
My wife and I were very pleasently surprised by the outstanding hospitality at the Crystal City Sheraton. We usually stay at ... a different brand of hotels, but this time the Sheraton was most convienent for our travels. We were greeted by a Hotel manager before we made it to the check in desk. There was a welcoming reception with comp. snacks and light beverages.(non-alc) Our room was absolutly beautiful, it felt like a $300 room. When we went out in the evening, there was a light rain. We were just going to brave it, but the concierge stopped us and gave us an umbrella. If we visit the DC area again, we will be back!

Leave your car in the hotel garage, and take the Metro-Rail. This will save much time, and the metro will get you almost everywhere you want to go in Washington. !!DC traffic is horid!!

Good Stay/Watch hidden fee
TrueTraveler1913 Jun 15, 2009
The room was very clean and neat. Parking was $22.00 per day to park in the underground parking deck. I ordered my room on ... Orbitz.com, but after I got there and was told that my room was already paid for through Orbitz, I later got home and saw that the hotel charged an additional $100 to my card for incidentals. Usually this wouldn't be a problem, but one, they never told me about it, and two, I gave them a card thinking it was just to verify who I was. I was told the money wouldn't be refunded for another 5 days! But anyway, the hotel has a very nice lobby and friendly staff. It is located just minutes from D.C. and the waterfront.

Hotel was very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Couldn't believe how nice the rooms were. Only complaint I really had ... was the TV in the room didn't work 100% of the time. Other than that had a very pleasant stay. Didn't have to go very far for anything either. Just a block behind the hotel are the Crystal City Shops. Lots of shopping and restaurants there.

Great Hotel for Business or Pleasure
Jeffrey Dec 31, 2008
The Sheraton is a great hotel. We stayed on the club level and the staff went above and beyond to accommidate any request ... that we had. The area is somewhat limited for restaurant choices at night, but you are accross the street from the Metro with a ton of choice over in DC. Parking was a little expensive ($22.50 per day) but other than that we would stay again. Kudos Sheraton!

George Nov 15, 2008
The hotel had a great location, even though a bit hard to find the exact street access from Route 1 at night. Hotel was ... very nice; clean, comfortable etc. Only downsides for me was room service menu was ridicuously priced too high. Nearly 12.00 for a hamburger, before the 18% tip and taxes. The restaurant was a little better, but no sandwiches and priced too high. Seems like they are trying to disuade diners. Parking lot, self park, at $22.00 too high as well. Other than that hotel was fine, not sure would use again...
