GUESTS BEWARE

GUESTS BEWARE! 5 STAR HOTEL???? AFTER A NIGHT OF SLEEPLESNESS ALL WAS MADE RIGHT. IT WAS LATE WHEN I ARRIVED, THE FLOOR I ... THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE ON (THE CARD ACCESS FLOOR FROM THE ELEVATOR WITH THE LOUNGE, THIS FLOOR IS MOST SECURE, AND THATS WHAT I LIKE AND THOUGHT I WAS PAYING FOR, EVEN THOUGH I WAS ON ANOTHER FLOOR I HAD ACCESS TO THE LOUNGE) WAS NOT WHAT I WAS GIVEN. UPON OPENING THE DOOR TO MY ROOM I SAW THAT THE CARPETS (YELLOW) WERE DIRTY. THE BEDDINGS MATTRESS HAD A FEATHER COVER, IT WAS AN AFTER THOUGHT AND WAS AS HARD AS A ROCK WITH A DEEP DEPRESSION. THE BATHROOM SHOWER HAD A USED HALF BAR OF SOAP IN ITS TRAY.WITHIN AN HOUR OF LYING IN BED AWAKE IN WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A DIRTY ROOM I CALLED DOWN TO THE DESK FOR A MANAGER. THE MANAGER ON DUTY TOLD ME THAT THE BEDDING WAS NEW. THE FEATHER TOPPING JUST NEEDED TO BE REARRANGED FOR MAX COMFORT, HE WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE SOMEONE COME UP AND FIX IT ASAP (NO WAY). I ASKED HIM IF HE WOULD MEET ME IN THE A.M. I WAS TOO TIRED TO HAVE THE BEDDING ATTENDED TO OR CHANGE ROOMS.MORNING: THE SAME MANAGER WAS IN. I HAD HIM COME UP TO THE ROOM HE AGREED THAT THE CARPET WAS DIRTY ( AFTER HE GOT ON HIS KNEES AND SCRUBED IT WITH A WET TOWEL) AND NEEDED ATTENTION. THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED WITH AN UPGRADED NEWLY CLEANED ROOM. THE BEDDING ISSUE WAS RESOLVED BY TAKING OFF THE FEATHER COVERING LEAVING A NORMAL FIRM MATTRESS.IF NOT FOR MANAGEMENT AGREEING THAT THE ROOM WAS NOT UP TO A 5 STAR STANDARD AND THIS WOUNDERFUL MANAGER TAKING RESPONSIBILTY THE TRIP WOULD HAVE BEEN A BUST.THE POOL IT'S AREA, AND TENNIS COURTS ARE 2ND TO NONE.[...]

High-end hotel at great price on the bea
Joe Aug 31, 2009
We were doing a last minute trip and wanted to stay in a first-class hotel near our friends in Venice Beach/Marina del Ray ... without paying a fortune. While Shutters feels higher-end, the Ritz Carlton was less than half the price, and club-level services (five different food/drink preparations each day) were a good value. Rooms and public spaces are fine (though a bit dated with lots of columns, marble, etc.), and the Sunday brunch has been downscaled, but hotel was excellent overall -- Ritz Carlton experience at Marriott prices. Only disappointment was breakfast at the Club Level -- every day they ran out of coffee, bagels and even cutlery. If you have to stay in the beach area, it's a very good choice. Not good if you want to be around Hollywood or Beverly Hills. I'd choose the Beverly Hills Hotel in that case.

The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey
me Aug 10, 2009
I booked this trip for a special family that was traveling to Los Angeles to see a movie premiere. Their daughter had one ... wish to attend a premiere and meet a particular celebrity. We decided to put them in the Ritz at Marina del Ray...and we are so glad that we did. I didn't stay in the hotel, but I have spoken with the family. They loved the hotel. [...], one of the hotel workers, made the family's stay as special as possible. She even upgraded their room for us!! They enjoyed their stay and said the service was excellent.

Luxury in the Marina Del Rey
michelle Jul 21, 2007
The Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey was well worth the rate. One can recognize the quality of service & decor the moment you ... drive onto the property. I felt very comfortable in this luxurious place. The decor was well thought out, the bed was very comfortable, the bath room products were great. The room had a wonderful view of the marina. I did have room service for breakfast & I enjoyed the freshness of the food & the attention to the presentation. I only wish i had been able to stay longer!!
