This was great hotel, occupany was low so it wasn't crowded. It was very nice, staff was great. Rooms we very clean and ... comfortable. Due to past hurricanes, all the beaches have been affected. There was about 15-20 feet to water depending on tide. Only issue was bar prices for drinks I thought $12 was high for small margarita?

2 can ride the bus downtown for 15 pesos vs. 100 peso cab ride. Don't book travel with Mayalan tours they forgot us for trip to the ruins and did not pick us up for return airport trip, we had to take a taxi. Be sure to avoid the first group of greeters at the airport, walk right past them and go out the door.

The service and cleanness were spectacular. Unfortunately there was no beach! You had to jump into the water. There was free ... internet but not free wii-fi you've got to pay for this service. You also have to pay to use the jacuzzi! I'd wish the pool schedule were beyond 6:00 PM. The menu at the restaurant was wide but too pricey.

Best Hotel I Have Ever Stayed In
Er Nov 10, 2009
I did not like Cancun (commercial tourist hell) but I LOVED the hotel. The design made you feel you were in a boutique and ... the lobby is incredible. The restaurant is fantastic and the gym is very nice too (although that could have been cleaner). The spa is outrageously priced but also very nice. The rooms were great and clean but the mattress was not the best. Overall the staff was very friendly and professional. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would give it a 8. I traveled with a friend and we wanted to relax with no kids. Le Meridien is a very adult hotel with trendy music, lovely art and unique rooms. You won't mind being stuck in the hotel as we were due to a hurricane. I would watch for incidental fees. That is one thing that was a bit annoying.

Just what the doctor ordered
Netha Nov 7, 2009
The hotel was definitely 5 star. 1st class service. Used the public restrooms when i first came into hotel. No paper towels ... or electric blowers here. They had individually rolled face cloths in a bowl to use. You discarded it in a wicker hamper.I quess they didn't mind doing laundry. Friendly helpful staff, pleasant and patient. other reviewers had recommended using the atm to exchange to pesos. Only problem was that the atm inside the hotel doesn't give pesos back, i got american dollars. When i mentioned that to the staff, the next day there was a sign on the atm explaining that. They also informed you of another atm that did give pesos back, but i never actually used that. I did find though that a credit card is preferred over the debit card, so you might want to bring both. We did the zip lines and the parasailing. Both were exciting. The para sailing was right in front of the hotel on the beach. But if you want other types of excitement(dancing, drinking, etc.) you have to find it on your own. This hotel is more for relaxing. We did do a zumba class here. I asked about it but the instructor i think forgot he was supposed to do it. When we got there the staff called him to remind him. Once he got there he did do a good job. I quess being pleasant and patient works both ways. They did have a time share like program going on associated with the starwood hotels, just warning you if you don't like that type of thing. You do get a credit for doing it which you can use for massages. Actually we used ours for the parasailing. Good deal.

Amazing Hotel and Experience!!!!
J Sizzle Sep 23, 2009
We went to Playa Del Carmen a couple years ago and Cancun was much better. If your looking for somewhere quiet to relax and ... enjoy great service from a friendly staff, then Le Meridien is the perfect hotel in cancun. The Le MEridien is very close to all the action, just a cheap bus ride or a short cab ride away. This is not a big resort hotel, it is a small boutique, luxury hotel. The pool menu was amazing as far as food and drinks went. The formal dinning was pretty lame. The room service food was good in taste, but just average in selection. The staff took care of our every need. We requested to be on opposite side of contruction and were accomodated on the pent-house level with a stellar view!!! Also, we traveled with starwood platinum members, and they were upgraded to suite upon arrival. No complaints what-so-ever and we will be loyal to the Le Meridien everytime we travel back to Cancun!!!

bad experince at hotel check in
peras Sep 21, 2009
it was a very dissapointed and strefull when we check in because hotel and orbitz co. have very poor communication regarding ... kids ages. We reserve two rooms for two adults and two kids per room and hotel charges different price because of kids age, wich orbitz does not explain concepts. Also we could not even get in our room and i had to sit my three year and fifteen year old daughter that had been in the airplane for several hours with stomag pain in the front desk lobby, until orbitz and hotel tried to solve the issue. Finally orbitz told me that i had to pay the extra money because of hotel has different regulations then orbitz regulations, which i dont think that it is fare since i made the reservations for two adult and two kids for room. Orbitz web page question is how many adults and kids for room, then show ages of kids and really clear says kids ages goes up to seventeen year old. And hotel charge kids for adults at the age of twelve years old. With this experince next time i will contact hotel directly instead of orbitz.

Awesome hotel and for the off-season price it was an amazing value. We paid about $150 per night, and got 20% off of all ... food and spa services, and free continental breakfast every day. This was by far the nicest hotel in the hotel zone of cancun - way more updated than the Ritz, and with all the amenities of the massive monstrosity hotels, but with a boutiquey, more personal feel.

This hotel was fabulous and I loved all the pools. The beach was great and the location made it easy to take a bus (for 8 ... pesos!) anywhere. The concierge was extremely helpful as was all of the staff. They were all very friendly and really tried to help us out with the little Spanish we knew. It is a great place to stay. The tours we booked through the hotel travel agent were far superior to others I have taken. The door to door service and ease of use was wonderful. Every meal we ate at this hotel was delicious! I loved breakfast in the morning-well worth the money. Even room service and poolside meals were fabulous. The employees really care about their work and it shows!

If you want GREAT authentic Mexican food go to Market 28 in downtown Cancun. It was FABULOUS! and very inexpensive. Not fancy at all and I suggest taking the bus to the market and a taxi back. Beautiful, Relaxing, and Pampered
Relaxed and Recharged Busy Mom Aug 7, 2009
My husband and I booked this trip for a much needed escape from our busy lives as parents of four children. From the moment ... we stepped out of our airport transfer vehicle we were treated like family. All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and often they addressed us by name because they remembered our names! The hotel gym is unlike any "gym" I've seen at a hotel. Fully equipped for any exercise need. We received 2 complementary massages and the spa was beautiful, relaxing and the massage therapists were very skilled at their job. The 3 pools are beautiful. There's so much room for all the guests and it never felt crowded. The pool side service is amazing. Cold towels and mango smoothies were brought around at the hottest time of the day. The beach was very accessible and not crowded. Booking tourist activities was a snap. The hotel restaurants provide extremely delicious food. Part of our trip included a tour of Chichen Itza and transfer to and from the airport through Gray Line Tours. I highly recommend Gray Line. They took great care of us! Le Meridien is positioned about the middle of the peninsula in Cancun and is just a short bus/taxi ride to some of the major Plazas for shopping, shows, parties, etc. We found that it was better to be a little more south of all the excitement of the Plazas because it wasn't as crowded or loud. Le Meridien didn't have some of the hotel "group activities" we heard from neighboring hotels during the day, but that was fine with us because it appears their focus is in providing a relaxing, quiet environment for their guests. The only thing I would consider helpful is for each room to have a hotel guide in them. Such guide would be needed to give information in regards to restaurants/spa/gym hours, services offered and where they are located, etc. We kind of had to navigate our own way around and ask questions, but the staff was always very friendly with their responses.

Incredible fitness center; exquisite pool; very friendly and helpful staff; classy, ... comfortable rooms with balconies and ocean and lagoon views; small but more than adequate beach.
