I had an early flight out of Manchester Airport (to Dublin and onward to JFK). I checked in during the serious snow storms on ... January 5th, 2010 (came in by train). The courtesy van took a little while according to other customers, who had been waiting over 30 minutes. I waited less then 15, and given the amount of snow and ice it was a miracle it came at all. The hotel is fine, due to my HHonors status I was upgraded to a deluxe room, and I used the concierge service to send a package. He told me FedEx was going to charge me well over GBP 100, whereas the same service could be had from Royal Mail for around GBP 10. I ate in the restaurant (buffet style, and fixed price for 2 or 3 courses). I had a very nice halibut and enjoyed the deserts. Recommended hotel if you have to stay over at the airport. (You can easily reach Manchester City by train in 20 minutes)

The only minor problem was that the staff was not aware that we had prepaid for the room and that we were to receive a ... complimentary buffet breakfast. Also the dining room didn't have knowledge that we had swiped our credit card at the front desk. Otherwise staff was very courteous.
