We stay at this hotel each time we visit San Diego; about 4 or 5 times a year. It's always very affordable and a nice and ... clean place to sleep. I've never had an issue here and will definitely stay again!

The location was good because of where our family lives. There were some questionable looking guests in some rooms, which ... scared me a little with 2 children. If you are familiar with the area you would be fine with the stay. If you don'y know the area you may wanna consider somewhere more north.

Close to transportation options

With the cost of rental cars soaring, we utilized public transportaton. I chose this hotel because of its price and the ... trolley is within 1/2 of block. Some of the other hotel options are close to bus transportaton, but they don't leave as often as the trolley. The hotel is clean, neat, and quiet. The breakfast isn't much, but was enough.

Nice and clean hotel. Would definitely recommend for its price for those seeking to visit the San Diego Zoo/Seaworld parks. ... Only con was there wasn't a fridge in the room as there was supposed to be. And no hairdryer, so need to keep in mind to bring one. Other than that had pleasant stay and great experience!

Fabulous Stay for a Great Price

We stayed for 6 nights and were greeted with the friendliest service from the time we checked in. The location is great with ... lots of good restaurants close by and within walking distance. The only thing I can think of that would have made our stay better is if they had jacuzzi. The pull was great, but a jacuzzi would have been nice. We will be back for sure.

Both restaurants on either side of the motel have excellent food. El Torrito has great Mexican food and a relaxed fun family friendly atmosphere. Anthony's Fish Grotto has great Seafood and is also family friendly.

The room was okay..not the cleanest as we found some left trash in the room. The location can be deceiving as far as safety ... wise. I felt safer than anticipated upon seeing the hotel. It was easy access to Trolley system and dining (Dennys, McDonalds, Angus Steak house).

I had a really pleasant visit this past July 2009. The front desk staff and the housekeeping really exceeded every ... expectation I had. They went out of their way to make suggestions and help arrange cabs to the aiport or local tips on things to do and see, they really have a good fit and quality people running this place now, lets hope it continues. I have stayed here for years and can say without a doubt this place is really shaping up to be a true hidden gem. Is close to the Blue Line Trolley, fast food, sit down, all steps from the room. Ice and vending machines were all working (unlike previous visits) pool was clean,they allowed some people to BBQ there, created a nice atmosphere, plenty of parking as well (free parking, many hotels in the SD area are charging extra for it now). Really, truly impressed only thing I did not like was noise from the parking lot (ill fitting metal doors) rooms are a little tired (clean but old), need to be upgraded some and add safes to the rooms. Attitude is everything, this place really seems to want to make the guest happy, I would stay here again without hesitation.

For the price, it was a good value. Everywhere else was more expensive. It is a simple hotel- no frills-and the bed was ... very comfortable. There is a continental breakfast from 7-9am, every day. The pool was clean as well as the room. It was near everything, malls attractions, beaches. I would ask for more towels since they are really small. They didn't seem to mind accomidating me.

It was great, if I had to complain, I would say the location could be a bit better. The staff was very hospitable, the rooms ... were nice and clean, beds were comfy, and it didnt smell like disinfectant
