Getaway for a week

The room was clean, all furniture and fixtures were in good shape and working order. During our stay, I kept thinking what ... I'd say about this item or that one. First of all....OMG!!! The bed is wonderful! Deep pillow top that cradles you to sleep and great feeling bedding, not rough as paper as some other hotels. The pillows also were wonderful. There was more than adequate drawers for our things, the TV/microwave/refrigerator/coffee pot/ac all worked as you would want. The chair with foot rest was also comfortable. The staff were friendly and very accomodating. The hotel overall is very clean. We had forgotten our toothpaste and the desk gave us a couple of one time use packets until we could get our own. Overall, this was a great experience. Would recommend to friends and family. Great location and close to everything..shopping, eating.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It was beautiful.It also came with a hot breakfast at no extra charge.The only complaint ... is that the entry doors to the rooms have a return spring on them which causes them to slam loudly if they aren't controlled by the one closing them. The rooms however were very well appointed and I didn't smell any cigarette smoke the whole time. It is my understanding this is a completely smoke free facility which is what I love.

Wonderful stay

The place was about ten minutes from Mayo Clinic, eight to St. John's Town Center and a short drive to Downtown and the Zoo. ... Rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly and go beyond to accomodate your needs. The pool is nice and the Guest Laundry is a plus. Will definitely stay here again.

Getaway for a week

I like the hotel very clean, i left an item in one room and got charge $15.00 of handling fees plus shipping, that's unfair ... is not like i bought something from them i understand shipping charges is not their fall that i forgot something, but handling fees is like they are trying to make money from everything. besides that i recommend the hotel good self service breakfast buffet and friendly staff, just make sure you don't leave anything behind you.

I was very impressed with the staff especially Katy who went out of their way to accomodate me. The room was extremely clean ... and quiet and the temperature was just right. I would definitely return and recommend it to others.

The furniture and carpet was shabby and torn. The desk chair was broken and not replaced when asked. The faucet at the sink ... leaked and the bathtub faucet did not work properly, this was fixed. I was disappointed in the quality of the room and staff was unhelpful.

I was in town visiting friends. The hotel was conveniently located. It was clean and the staff friendly. There was a large ... family reunion going on while we stayed. This caused several problems that in my mind the hotel was not prepared for; bored children running up and down the halls and elevators most of the day and until well past midnight. The same bored children using the business center to play computer games which prevented other guests access to the computers. People going in and out of their rooms until past midnight and the doors do not close gently, they SLAM! I called the front desk to complain and the issue was not resolved. The breakfast buffet and eating area were not able to accomodate the large amounts of people staying in the hotel. Not enough food, nor enough seating. I do believe the stay would have been pleasant otherwise. The hotel should have contingency plans when there is a large boisterous group staying at the hotel. Perhaps isolate other guests on a particular floor and be prepared with extra seating and food servings.

Check in was easy and available early. We only stayed one night on our way to Disney / Orlando area, but it was a perfect ... location right off of 95, and near Cracker Barrel. Only problem was we called housekeeping for more towels, left a message, but never received them.

The location was good, a Cracker Barrel was near by. The posh St. Johns shopping area was within 10 minutes away with tons of ... shopping and exceptional dining. The property was very nice and the room was exceptional. Very large with a sitting area, a desk and a nice and roomy bathroom. They served a hot breakfast from 6-10am which was pretty good. The breakfast area was very neat and clean with a large TV and morning papers for guests to enjoy. All in all, it exceeded our expectations.

Pleasant hotel, difficult to find

Finding this hotel is a nightmare and negotiating the traffic in the area is dangerous. It's not just the Wingate though as ... there is a whole group of hotels that are hidden obscurely behind a bunch of highway interchanges. Once I got there though, I enjoyed my stay. The desk attendant was very nice and helpful and allowed us to use the pool after hours since she was on shift until late. A different clerk also granted a late checkout with no fuss. The room is a nice size, kind of basic, with easy computer setup for both wired and wireless internet and power. The bed and pillows weren't super comfortable, but I found everything pretty clean. If you're just looking for someplace to stay a few nights that is clean, safe, affordable etc then I would recommend this place, and I'd stay there again myself.

My husband and I traveled with our 23 month old son from pa. for my nieces' graduation. This place was centrally located and ... very nice. Breakfast was very nice selection. Not suited for young children, playground would be nice. Doors slam shut because they lock automatically so you could hear others close-sometimes early/late.Beds were so comfortable!

The floor was wet and the room had some weird smell. TV is small. At about 6 am fire alarm started to ring and water in the ... bathroom started to have some noise.
